Parndana
Parndana is a town and locality in the Australian state of South Australia located on Kangaroo Island about southwest of the state capital of Adelaide city centre, Adelaide and about southwest of the municipal seat of Kingscote, South Australia, Kingscote. History Parndana was established after the World War II, Second World War to support the Soldier settlement (Australia), Soldier Settlement Scheme on Kangaroo Island. The name "Parndana" means "The Place of Little Gums". Returned soldiers and their families began to arrive in the area in 1948, occupying huts brought from a former internment camp, and began to move onto their farms in 1951. A total of 174 families came to live in the area, almost doubling Kangaroo Island's population by 1954. Seddon, South Australia
__NOTOC__ Seddon is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located on Kangaroo Island about south-west of the state capital of Adelaide and about south-west of the municipal seat of Kingscote. Its boundaries were created in March 2002 for the “long established name” which was derived from the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Seddon in which it is located. Seddon is bounded by the Playford Highway and the town of Parndana to the north and by the South Coast Road in part to the south. The principal land use in the locality is primary production with exception to land reserved for conservation purposes as the Seddon Conservation Park and land adjoining the town of Parndana which is zoned for residential and commercial purposes. Kangaroo Island
Kangaroo Island, also known as Karta Pintingga (literally 'Island of the Dead' in the language of the Kaurna people), is Australia's third-largest island, after Tasmania and Melville Island. It lies in the state of South Australia, southwest of Adelaide. Its closest point to the mainland is Snapper Point in Backstairs Passage, which is from the Fleurieu Peninsula. Cassini, South Australia
__NOTOC__ Cassini is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located on the north coast of Kangaroo Island overlooking Investigator Strait about south-west of the state capital of Adelaide and about from the municipal seat of Kingscote. Its boundaries were created in 2002 in respect to “the long established name” which is derived from the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Cassini. The principal land use is agriculture with a small amount of land being zoned for conservation. The latter use consists of the protected areas of the Lathami Conservation Park and the Parndana Conservation Park, and the strip of land along the coastline. The locality includes the former Cassini Station Complex and Mulberry Tree which is listed on the South Australian Heritage Register.
