''Parliament Jokes'' ( si, පාර්ලිමන්ට් ජෝක්ස්, italic=yes) is a 2002 Sri Lankan Sinhala comedy, action film directed by Ranjan Ramanayake and produced by Lal Kaluarachchi for Lak films. It stars Ranjan Ramanayake, comic duo Bandu Samarasinghe, and Tennyson Cooray in lead roles along with Ananda Wickramage, Wilson Karunaratne, Sasanthi Jayasekara and Sanoja Bibile. It is the 973rd Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema. Plot There is a public meeting on how people in a certain village should elect their leader. The meeting is handled by the village monk. The Father of the Church and the Muslim Mudali are supporting the Leader of the House, irrespective of ethnic or religious differences. But it was the insane politician, Walisundara (Wilson), who suddenly broke in. He threatened the Chief monk with his thuggery powers and threatened to give Walisundara preferential treatment. Sadda Vidda Rajapakse Palanga Pathira Ambakumarage Ranjan Leo Sylvester Alphonsu (born 11 March 1963) (රන්ජන් රාමනායක), popularly known as Ranjan Ramanayake, is a former Sri Lankan politician, actor, film director, singer and script writer who appeared in a number of Sinhala language films. He is a former Member of the Parliament. He served as the State Minister of Highways and Road Development (2018–2019). Sri Lankan cinema encompasses the Sri Lankan film industry. It is a fledgling industry that has struggled to find a footing since its inauguration in 1947 with '' Kadawunu Poronduwa'' produced by S. Sunflower is a Sri Lankan pop band established in the early 1980s, led by Neil Warnakulasooriya. Wilson Karunaratne, popularly known as Wilson Karu (28 October 1942 – 3 May 2022) was an actor in Cinema of Sri Lanka, Sri Lankan cinema, and stunt director.
