Parkettes
Parkettes National Gymnastics Training Center, or Parkettes for short, is a gymnastics club located in Allentown, Pennsylvania that had its beginnings in the early 1960s with a middle school gymnastics program in Allentown that gradually grew into an intramural program and then into a facility that has produced several teams and individual gymnasts representing the United States, the Czech Republic, and Canada in international meets, including the Olympic Games. The husband and wife team Bill Strauss and Donna Strauss have served as the head coaches at Parkettes since its inception. History In 1986, Parkettes's gymnasts took the 1st (Jennifer Sey), 2nd (Hope Spivey), and 4th (Alyssa Solomon) places at the United States National Gymnastics Championships. At the 1988 Olympic Games, Parkettes-trained gymnast Hope Spivey represented the United States. Kristal Uzelac
Kristal Dawn Bodenschatz (born Kristal Dawn Uzelac; June 27, 1986) is a retired American gymnast. A junior national all-around champion for three consecutive years, she was considered one of the United States' most promising junior gymnasts in the late 1990s. Early years Uzelac was born on June 27, 1986, to parents Donnie and Brenda. She has one younger brother, Donnie, and two older siblings: a sister, Brandy, and a brother, Alan. ''Achieving The Perfect 10'' is a television documentary film released on CNN on August 10, 2003 about young girls training gymnastics at the highly competitive Parkettes National Gymnastics Training Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The documentary follows several Parkettes gymnasts—ranging from the novice competitor Ashley Barry to the elites Nicole Harris, Annie Fogerty and Kristina Coccia—through their daily training routines. It focuses largely on the dynamics between the athletes and their coaches, their parents' sacrifices, expectations and observations, and their experiences dealing with injuries and preparing for competitions. Christina Desiderio
Christina Lydia Desiderio (born August 22, 2000, in New Jersey) is a retired American artistic gymnast. Desiderio was named to the 2015 U.S. Junior National team, after her performances at the 2015 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships. Personal life Christina Lydia Desiderio was born on August 22, 2000, in New Jersey to parents Dominick and Carol (née Noll) Desiderio. She has an older brother, Dominick, who is 2 years older than her, and is a baseball player. She graduated high school a year early. Elizabeth "Ebee" Nicole Price (born May 28, 1996) is a retired United States, American artistic gymnastics, artistic gymnast. Price was an alternate for the 2012 Summer Olympics Gymnastics team, the 2014 American Cup Champion, and the 2013-2014 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup All Around Series Winner. She was a member of the U.S. Junior National Gymnastics Team from 2010 to 2012 and the US Senior National Team from 2012 to 2014. She retired from international elite gymnastics in April 2014. Kristen Maloney
Kristen Ann Maloney (born March 10, 1981) is a retired gymnast from Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania, in the United States. She won bronze in the team event at the 2000 Olympic Games. Maloney was also the U.S. senior all-around national champion in 1998 and 1999 and the 1998 Goodwill Games gold medalist on the balance beam. Jennifer Anne Sey (born 1969) is an American author, business executive, and retired artistic gymnast. She was a seven-time member of the U.S. Women's National Team and was the 1986 U.S. Women's All-Around National Champion. Margzetta Frazier
Margzetta Bryantina Frazier (born February 25, 2000) is an American artistic gymnast. She was a US National Team member from 2017–2018 and was the 2018 Birmingham World Cup silver medalist. She is currently a member of the UCLA Gymnastics team and is the older sister of eMjae Frazier.
