Parker Morin
Parker M. Morin (born July 2, 1991) is an American professional baseball catcher and bullpen catcher for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball. Morin grew up in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, before his family moved to Utah when he was in the seventh grade. He graduated from Park City High School in Park City, Utah. He enrolled at the College of Southern Idaho, where he played college baseball for the Southern Idaho Golden Eagles. After two seasons, Morin transferred to the University of Utah to continue his college baseball career with the Utah Utes. The Kansas City Royals selected Morin in the 14th round of the 2012 MLB draft. He played in their minor league system, and played for the United States national baseball team in the 2015 WBSC Premier12. Catcher is a Baseball positions, position in baseball and softball. When a Batter (baseball), batter takes their at bat, turn to hit, the catcher crouches behind home plate, in front of the (home plate, home) Umpire (baseball), umpire, and receives the ball from the pitcher. College Baseball
College baseball is baseball that is played on the intercollegiate level at institutions of higher education. In comparison to football and basketball, college competition in the United States plays a smaller role in developing professional players, as baseball's professional minor leagues are more extensive, with a greater history of supplying players to MLB. Moving directly from high school to the professional level is more common in baseball than in football or basketball. However, if players do opt to enroll at a four-year college to play baseball, they must complete three years to regain professional eligibility, unless they reach age 21 before starting their third year of college. Players who enroll at junior colleges (i.e., two-year institutions) regain eligibility after one year at that level. The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) is a professional independent baseball league based in the United States. It is an official MLB Partner League based in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States. The Atlantic League's corporate headquarters is located at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. United States National Baseball Team
The United States national baseball team represents the United States in international-level baseball competitions. The team is currently ranked 5th in the world by the World Baseball Softball Confederation. Team USA won the Olympic baseball tournament in 2000, and the World Baseball Classic (WBC) in 2017. The United States was an inaugural member of the World Baseball Classic, making its debut in the first edition. The 2012 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft was held from June 4 through June 6, 2012, from Studio 42 of the MLB Network in Secaucus, New Jersey.
