Park Jong-hwan
Park Jong-hwan ( born 9 February 1938) is a former South Korean football manager. Managerial career Considered one of South Korea's greatest football managers in the 20th century, Park led South Korean under-20 team to the semi-finals in the 1983 FIFA World Youth Championship, and Ilhwa Chunma to three consecutive K League titles from 1993 to 1995. He left memorable results by showing various tactics under players' great teamwork. However, he was also criticised for his oppressive style and violence against players. He was nicknamed the "Bat Park" due to his violence. Ongjin, South Hwanghae
Ongjin County is a county in southern South Hwanghae Province, North Korea. It is located on the Ongjin Peninsula, which projects into the Yellow Sea. History The Ongjin Peninsula lies below the 38th parallel, and was therefore in the Southern zone, which became the Republic of Korea. However, the Ongjin Peninsula was isolated from other southern territories, and therefore difficult to defend. Some of the earliest fighting in the Korean War came here as Northern forces took the Ongjin Peninsula. The Armistice Line at the end of the Korean War left Ongjin County in North Korea. Geography Ongjin County is on the Ongjin Peninsula, with the Yellow Sea to the south and west. The 1980 AFC Youth Championship was held from 21 February to 1 March 1981 in Bangkok, Thailand. The tournament was won by for the fifth time by South Korea. The K League 1 (Hangul: K리그1) is the men's top professional football division of the South Korean football league system. The league is contested by twelve clubs. History The South Korean professional football league was founded in 1983 as the "Korean Super League", with five member clubs. The initial five clubs were Hallelujah FC, Yukong Elephants, Pohang Steelworks, Daewoo Royals, Kookmin Bank. Hallelujah FC won the inaugural title, finishing one point ahead of Daewoo Royals to lift the crown. The Super League was renamed the "Korean Professional Football League", and introduced the home and away system in 1987. It was once again renamed the "K League" in 1998. The Korean National Football Championship ( ko, 전국축구선수권대회) was a South Korean football competition for semi-professional and amateur senior football clubs. It was held annually in the second half of the year. This competition was originally one of major club competitions of South Korean football, but its status was undermined after the professional clubs appeared in South Korea with the foundation of the professional league, K League. Korean National Semi-Professional Football League
The Korean National Semi-professional Football League was contested between South Korean works teams and military teams from 1964 to 2002. It was the predecessor of the Korea National League which was founded in 2003. History After the introduction of football from the UK navy in the late 19th century, football experienced a boom in Korea and many football clubs and school teams were formed in the 1910s. There were also many corporate football clubs especially in Seoul and Pyongyang, two big cities in Korea. The corporate club division was made in All Joseon Football Tournament in Pyongyang in 1930, and Seoul Semi-professional Football League was founded in 1939, but both were stopped because of the Japanese government's policy during World War II. Park or Bak (, ), is the third-most-common surname in Korea, traditionally traced back to 1st century King Hyeokgeose Park () and theoretically inclusive of all of his descendants.
