Parc De La Creueta Del Coll
Parc de la Creueta del Coll (; "Park of the Corner of the Hill") is a park in the Gràcia and Horta districts of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The park was created from an abandoned quarry as part of the '' nou urbanisme'' developments during the 1992 Summer Olympics by architects Martorell, Bohigas and Mackay. The park contains the sculpture ''Elogi de l'Aigua'', by Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida, a massive concrete claw suspended by steel cables above a flooded quarry. Gràcia () is a district of the city of Barcelona, Spain. It comprises the neighborhoods of Vila de Gràcia, Vallcarca i els Penitents, El Coll, La Salut and Camp d'en Grassot i Gràcia Nova. Oriol Bohigas
Oriol Bohigas i Guardiola (20 December 1925 – 30 November 2021) was a Spanish architect and urban planner, known for his work in the modernization of Barcelona. Early life Bohigas was born in Barcelona, Spain, on 20 December 1925 in a Catalan bourgeois family. His father was the philologist and he studied at the Institut-Escola de la Generalitat. During the Civil War he moved to Olot, province of Girona, where he continued his high school studies. Bohigas graduated in architecture in 1951 from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona (Barcelona School of Architecture), where in 1963 he obtained the title of Doctor of Architecture. David John Mackay (1933 – 2014) was a British architect and partner in MBM, an architecture firm based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. He was mostly active in Catalonia. Biography David John Mackay was born on 25 December 1933 in Eastbourne, Sussex, England. His father was a "colonial administrator" in India and Ghana, and his parents mostly lived abroad. Mackay was the youngest child in the family and attended boarding schools in England, Ireland and Scotland. In 1957, he married Catalan Roser Jarque, whom he met in London.
