Paraskoviivka
Paraskoviivka, (, , Belarusian: , Armenian: Պարսկովևկա) also romanized and spelled as Paraskoviyvka, Paraskovyivka, Paraskoviyivka and Paraskoveevka, is a selo (village) in Bakhmut Raion, Donetsk Oblast, Eastern Ukraine. The settlement is north of the city of Bakhmut, south of Soledar, west of the settlement of Krasna Hora and east of the city of Sloviansk. It had a population of at least 2,810 people in January 2022, with the village having a majority Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian and Armenian majority confirmed in the 2001 census. Beginning on 15 January 2023, the city suffered a number of attacks and offensives around it, with attacks increasing in January 2023. After attacks in the northern towns of the settlement increased and rising captures inside of Bakhmut, caused a two-week long siege of Paraskoviivka in late February 2023. Krasna Hora, Donetsk Oblast
Krasna Hora or Krasna Gora () is an urban-type settlement in Bakhmut Raion, Donetsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine. The name means "red mountain" and comes from a clay deposit used for production of bricks. It is east of Paraskoviivka and north of Bakhmut. Population: Since 2023, it has been under Russian occupation. History in 2014, the brick factory was closed, on which the entire economy of the village stood. The village came under heavy attack by Russia amid the battles for Soledar and Bakhmut during the Battle of Donbas, part of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Donets Railway
The Donets Railway ( uk, Донецька залізниця) is a railway in Donbas, Eastern Ukraine. It is one of six rail systems owned and operated by Ukrainian Railways. It is part-owned by the Ukrainian government, but Russia also has claimed it since the 2014 Russian military intervention in Ukraine. Because of that, only part of the Donetsk Railway is operational. Siege Of Paraskoviivka
The Battle of Bakhmut is an ongoing series of military engagements in and near the city of Bakhmut between Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Russian Armed Forces during the larger battle for Donbas. Shelling of Bakhmut began in May 2022, but the main assault towards the city began on 1 August after Russian forces advanced from the Popasna direction after a Ukrainian withdrawal from that front. The main assault force primarily consists of mercenaries from the Russian paramilitary organization Wagner Group, supported by regular Russian troops and DPR and LPR separatist elements.
