''Parallax Error Beheads You'' is the third studio album by Max Tundra, the stage name of electronic musician Ben Jacobs. The album was released on 20 October 2008 through Domino Records. Writing and recording Jacobs worked on ''Parallax Error Beheads You'' album for six years. It was recorded and programmed at Jacobs' home studio in Bristol at the time, The Electric Smile using his Amiga 500, though he also recorded piano and drum parts at Securisound and Voltone Studios respectively. The album's title refers to the 'parallax error' phenomenon often found in cheap cameras, in which the viewfinder and the lens are aligned differently, resulting in images that are slightly lower in frame than what the photographer perceives. Jacobs noted that the album makes less use of traditional musical instruments than his previous releases, and aimed for a purely synthetic sound, "though you'll hear the odd cello on this LP". Max Tundra
Ben Jacobs (born 7 June 1974), more commonly known by the stage name Max Tundra, is an English multi-instrumental musician, singer and music producer. His work is noted for its maximalist approach, which is predominantly electronic music but incorporates non-electronic styles and instruments. Jacobs' production style has been noted as an influence on the hyperpop style which became prevalent in the 2010s onwards. Other than his full-length albums, he has also done remix work for bands of varying genres including Franz Ferdinand, Architecture in Helsinki, Kid606 and the Pet Shop Boys. Baroque pop (sometimes called baroque rock) is a fusion genre that combines rock music with particular elements of classical music. ''Margerine Eclipse'' is the eighth studio album by English-French rock band Stereolab. It was released on 27 January 2004 in the United States by Elektra Records and on 2 February 2004 in the United Kingdom by Duophonic Records. The album is in large part a eulogy to former band member Mary Hansen, who died in 2002. By June 2004, ''Margerine Eclipse'' had sold over 40,000 copies in United States. A remastered and expanded edition of the album was released by Duophonic and Warp on 29 November 2019. Background In December 2002, Stereolab member Mary Hansen was killed in a cycling accident. Stereolab
Stereolab are an Anglo- French avant-pop band formed in London in 1990. Led by the songwriting team of Tim Gane and Lætitia Sadier, the group's music combines influences from krautrock, lounge and 1960s pop music, often incorporating a repetitive motorik beat with heavy use of vintage electronic keyboards and female vocals sung in English and French. Their lyrics have political and philosophical themes influenced by the Surrealist and Situationist movements. On stage, they play in a more feedback-driven and guitar-oriented style. Kevin Blechdom (born Kristin Grace Erickson; 1978 in Florida) is an American experimental electronic musician and performance artist. She is based in Santa Cruz, California.
