Paradox (British Band)
Paradox were a Christian black metal band founded in London, England, in 1996 by guitarist and vocalist Michael, using the pseudonym "John Tarantula". They were reported to be, at the time, the only dark metal band in London promoting Christianity. Originally formed as a three-piece family unit, they released a demo ''The Outcasts'' in 1997 through their own record label, Tarantula Promotions. In 1998, a fourth member joined as a vocalist, and a second demo was released in 2000 entitled ''Through Pain There Is Joy''. Following this release, the band reformed around Michael as a five-piece unit, and a sixth member later joined part-time on keyboards. In 2002, Paradox disbanded, releasing their last two songs as part of a compilation album entitled '' Overcome or Burn Forever in Hell/Arachnid Terror Sampler'', which featured tracks from fourteen other artists. Black Metal
Black metal is an extreme metal, extreme subgenre of heavy metal music. Common traits include Tempo#Beats per minute, fast tempos, a Screaming (music)#Black metal, shrieking vocal style, heavily distorted Electric guitar, guitars played with tremolo picking, raw (Lo-fi music, lo-fi) recording, unconventional song structures, and an emphasis on atmosphere. Artists often appear in corpse paint and adopt pseudonyms. During the 1980s, several thrash metal and death metal bands formed a prototype for black metal. Pantokrator (band)
Pantokrator is a Swedish Christian metal band that was formed in 1996. The band's name means "Lord Almighty" in Ancient Greek. Several members have been in Crimson Moonlight and Sanctifica. Background Pantokrator was formed in fall 1996 as a cover band. The band then decided to play songs written by themselves. It has had six members overall: Jonas Wallinder (bass guitar), Rickard Gustafsson (drums), Karl Walfridsson (vocals) and Matthias Johansson, and Johnathan Jansson (guitars). Pantokrator released two demos within their first three years of existence, followed by several EPs and compilations of material they had accumulated until they officially released their debut album, ''Blod'', which was released via Rivel Records on March 14, 2003. Unholy (band)
Unholy was a Finnish avant-garde doom metal band. Formed in 1988, they were one of the first doom metal groups in their home country. History Unholy originally started as a black-doom hybrid in 1988 under the name Holy Hell. After recording their first two demos in 1989, "Unhallowed Passion" and "Kill Jesus", they ultimately changed their name to Unholy in 1990. The band achieved underground popularity with its next demo and the 1991 EP ''Trip to Depressive Autumn'', and signed with Lethal Records, an Austrian record label that released the band's first album, ''From the Shadows'', in 1993. Unholy then signed with Avantgarde Music for the next album, ''The Second Ring of Power'', but disbanded soon after its release in 1994. However, they re-formed only two years later. Autopsy is an American death metal band formed in Contra Costa County, California in 1987 by Chris Reifert and Eric Cutler. The group disbanded in 1995 and reunited in 2009.
