Parachute is an American pop rock band from Charlottesville, Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia, United States. Formed in 2006, they released their major-label debut album, ''Losing Sleep (Parachute album) , Losing Sleep'', in 2009, followed by their second album, ''The Way It Was (album) , The Way It Was'', in 2011 and their third album, ''Overnight (album), Overnight'', in 2013. Vanguard Records released the band's fourth album, ''Wide Awake (Parachute album) , Wide Awake'', on March 11, 2016. The band independently released their fifth album, ''Parachute'', in May 2019. History Will Anderson and Johnny Stubblefield, friends from childhood, formed the band Sparky's Flaw while attending Charlottesville High School; Kit French and Alex Hargrave, long-time friends and classmates of the two, soon joined. Charlottesville, colloquially known as C'ville, is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Virginia Gentlemen (VGs) is a lower voices collegiate a cappella group and the oldest a cappella group at the University of Virginia. The group was founded in 1953 as an elite octet of the Virginia Glee Club. Since establishing independence from the Virginia Glee Club in 1987, the group has continued to perform a mix of contemporary pop and classic vocal music. Recognizable by the signature navy blue blazers and orange-and-blue bow ties worn during performances, the VGs offer regular performances across the Charlottesville area and the United States, and conduct annual international tours, having most recently traveled to Guatemala, Los Cabos and California. ''Live from Daryl's House'' (simply known as ''Daryl's House'' and often abbreviated as ''LFDH'') is an online music series that debuted in the autumn of 2007. The show features singer-songwriter Daryl Hall performing with his band and various guest artists at his home in Millerton, New York.
