Para Site
Para Site () is an independent, non-profit art space based in Hong Kong. It was founded in 1996 by artists Patrick Lee, Leung Chi-wo, Phoebe Man Ching-ying, Sara Wong Chi-hang, Leung Mee-ping, Tsang Tak-ping and Lisa Cheung. Quarry Bay
Quarry Bay is an area beneath Mount Parker in the Eastern District of Hong Kong Island, in Hong Kong. The western portion of the area was also formerly known as Lai Chi (). Traditionally an industrial and residential area, the number of commercial buildings in this district has increased since the 1990s. Quarry Bay is bordered by Sai Wan Ho to the east, Mount Parker to the south, North Point to the west, and Victoria Harbour to the north. Administratively, it is part of Eastern District. Phoebe Man
Phoebe Man (Man, Ching Ying) () (born 1969 in Hong Kong) is a conceptual artist, media sculptor and independent curator based in Hong Kong. Her works have been shown in local and international art exhibitions, including Venice Biennale, Shanghai Biennale, Gwangju Biennale, and European Media Art Festival. Her works were included in ''Asian Art', The Art of Modern China'' ''and Hong Kong Eye: Hong Kong Contemporary Art''. Early life and education Man studied at the Chinese University of Hong Kong from 1987 to 1991, where she majored in Fine Arts. Wong Chi Hang Sara
Wong Chi Hang Sara (; born 1968) is a Hong Kong-based visual artist and landscape architect. Wong graduated with a BA degree in Fine Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1992 and an MA in Landscape Architecture from the University of Hong Kong. Wong was born in Hong Kong. She was one of the founding members of Para Site, a Hong Kong gallery and organisation dedicated to contemporary art forms which opened in 1996. Leung Mee Ping
Leung Mee Ping (; born 1961) is a Hong Kong artist. Leung's research-based artistic practice integrates elements of theatre, design, and social space. Leung's works explore issues and themes related to visual culture, effects of globalisation, memory, and material culture. Personal Life and Education Leung Mee Ping grew up in a broken family. While studying in primary school, she won a drawing competition. Since that time, she started to fall into drawing and calligraphy. Leung moved out when she was very young after her parents separated. Despite this, she has always been close to her mother and sisters, who support her and are a main theme of Leung's artworks. After working in a bookstore for two years, Leung saved up and was admitted into École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts. In 1983, Leung Mee Ping left Hong Kong and began her art studies in Paris. Kennedy Town
Kennedy Town is at the western end of Sai Wan on Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. It was named after Arthur Edward Kennedy, the 7th Governor of Hong Kong from 1872 to 1877. Administratively, it is part of Central and Western District. Due to its distance from major commercial cores and longtime inaccessibility by train, town development was less vigorous than in other parts of urban Hong Kong. Sheung Wan
Sheung Wan is an area in Hong Kong, located in the north-west of Hong Kong Island, between Central and Sai Ying Pun. Administratively, it is part of the Central and Western District. The name can be variously interpreted as ''Upper District'' (occupying relatively high ground compared to Central and Wan Chai), or ''Gateway District'' (perhaps a reference to the location where the British first entered and occupied Hong Kong).
