George Edward Papp (January 20, 1916 – August 8, 1989) was an American comics artist best known as one of the principal artists on the long-running Superboy feature for DC Comics. Papp also co-created the Green Arrow character with Mort Weisinger and co-created Congo Bill with writer Whitney Ellsworth. Career George Papp began his comic book career with the occasional feature and cartoon in early issues of the Superman line of comics. "Pep Morgan" and "Clip Carson" were the first features he worked on for ''Action Comics''. Gustáv Papp
Gustáv Papp (28 September 1919 – 7 October 1997) was a Slovak operatic tenor who had an active international career during the 1940s through the 1980s. He was notably a leading artist at the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava from 1948 through 1987. He made a number of recordings made on the Supraphon label and also worked for many years as a medical doctor. Biography Born in Čierny Balog, Papp studied medicine at the University of Bratislava and passed his medical exams, becoming a Doctor of Medicine in 1944. For many years he worked as a doctor in addition to performing. While specializing in general surgery he became increasingly interested in opera and eventually entered the Bratislava Conservatory in 1940 where he studied singing with D. Žuravlevová through 1947. Josef Papp (1933? in Tatabánya, Hungary – April 1989 in Daytona Beach, Florida) was an engineer who was awarded U.S. patents related to the development of an engine, and also claimed to have invented a jet submarine. Papp was issued several U.S. patents for these inventions, including his noble gas fuel mixture. The engine continues to be considered by many scientists as a hoax. Papp's poor physics theoretic background is demonstrated in the abstracts of the patents, which had been criticized by Richard Feynman. He established The Public Theater in what had been the Astor Library Building in Lower Manhattan. There Papp created a year-round producing home to focus on new plays and musicals. Krisztina Papp (born 17 December 1982) is a Hungarian long distance runner. She is the national indoor record holder over 5000 m. She was selected as Female Athlete of the Year by the Hungarian Athletics Association in 2006, 2009 and 2010. Papp began her international career as a junior with appearances at the 2000 World Junior Championships in Athletics and the 2001 IAAF World Cross Country Championships. He was left-handed and won gold medals in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, and the 1956 Summer Olympics held in Melbourne, Australia.
