Giórgos Papakonstantínou ( el, Γιώργος Παπακωνσταντίνου; born 30 October 1961) in Athens, Greece, is a Greek economist and politician and former Minister for the Environment, Energy and Climate Change of Greece and former Minister for Finance. Theofylaktos F. Papakonstantinou (1905–1991) was a Greek columnist, political and social analyst and historian. He used the pen name Petros Monastiriotis. Biography He was born in 1905 in Monastir, then part of the Ottoman Empire, whence his later pen name. He studied literature, philosophy, history and didactics at the University of Athens.
