Paola e Chiara is an Italian pop music duo consisting of Paola Iezzi and Chiara Iezzi, two sisters, born in Milan. They are the best selling female Italian group with over 35 million records sold. Their national career began when the manager of Max Pezzali's pop band 883 saw the sisters playing in Milan, and signed them to the band. The sisters' career as "Paola e Chiara" began in 1997 when they parted from 883. In 1997, the sisters won the New-Artist category for the song "Amici come prima" at the Sanremo Festival. Soon after, they released their first album. They have since released five other studio albums, incorporating shifting musical influences (such as Spanish Pop and Celtic elements) and performing in several different languages, achieving international success in 2000. Claudio Cecchetto (born 19 April 1952) is an Italian record producer and talent scout. Life and career Cecchetto was born in Ceggia, (metropolitan city of Venice). Annalisa Minetti (born 27 December 1976 in Rho) is an Italian singer, politician and Paralympic athlete. Minetti was a beauty pageant contestant in the 1997 edition of Miss Italia; she gained public attention because she was the first blind woman admitted to the competition. The Sanremo Music Festival 1997 was the 47th annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia, in the late February 1997 and broadcast by Rai 1. The show was presented by Mike Bongiorno (in his eleventh and final hosting of the Festival), supported by Piero Chiambretti and Valeria Marini. The Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana (FIMI) is an umbrella organization that keeps track of virtually all aspects of the music recording industry in Italy. It was established in 1992, when major corporate labels left the previously existing Associazione dei Fonografici Italiani (AFI). Raising Malawi
Raising Malawi is a charity non-profit organization that was founded by Madonna and Michael Berg in 2006. It is dedicated to helping with the extreme poverty and hardship endured by Malawi's one million orphans, primarily through health and education programming. Initially, the "Raising Malawi Academy for Girls" was to be constructed but following an audit by the Global Philanthropy Group, which questioned expenditure on salaries and benefits as well as the management capacity and culture, the charity's school headmistress resigned in October 2010 and the project was scrapped.
