Pandit Motiram Pandit Maniram Sangeet Samaroh
Pandit Motiram Pandit Maniram Sangeet Samaroh is an annual Indian classical music festival held at Chowmahalla Palace in Hyderabad, India. The festival is organised by noted classical singer Pt. Jasraj in memory of his father and brother, both classical musicians. Jasraj always performs on 30 November every year, his father's death anniversary and a tribute to Jasraj’s guru, his mentor and elder brother, Maniram, who died in 1986, and Jasraj renamed the festival to include his brother's name. History The festival was started in 1972 by Jasraj because of his bond with Hyderabad as he spent his childhood here and his father, Motiram's Samadhi is in the city. Maharaja Kishan Prasad Bahadur took his father to Chowmahalla Palace. His father died in 1934, five hours before his concert at Chowmahalla Palace, where he was to be announced as the Royal musician in the court of Osman Ali Khan. Chowmahalla Palace
Chowmahalla Palace or Chowmahallat (from ''chār mahallāt'', in Dakhini Urdu) is the palace of the Nizams of Hyderabad State in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It was the seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty and was the official residence of the Nizams of Hyderabad while they ruled their state. The palace was built by Nizam Salabat Jung and remains the property of the Nizam. Some members of the Hyderabadi Nizam family have wed here. The word ''chār'' or ''chahār'', and its variation ''chow'', means "four" and the word '' mahal'' means "palace" in Urdu, Hindi and Persian. Jasrangi Jugalbandi
A jugalbandi or jugalbandhi is a performance in Indian classical music, especially in Hindustani classical music but also in Carnatic, that features a duet of two solo musicians. The word jugalbandi means, literally, "entwined twins." The duet can be either vocal or instrumental. Often, the musicians will play different instruments, as for example the famous duets between sitarist Ravi Shankar and sarod player Ali Akbar Khan, who played the format since the 1940s. More rarely, the musicians (either vocalists or instrumentalists) may be from different traditions (i.e. Carnatic and Hindustani). Pandit Bhimsen Gururaj Joshi BR (; ; 4 February 1922 – 24 January 2011), also known by the honorific prefix Pandit, was one of the greatest Indian vocalists from Karnataka, in the Hindustani classical tradition. He is known for the '' khayal'' form of singing, as well as for his popular renditions of devotional music (''bhajans'' and '' abhangs'').
