Panasonic European Open
The European Open is a European Tour golf tournament. Founded in 1978, up to 1994 it was played at various courses in England, including Sunningdale and Walton Heath, except for the 1979 event, which was held at Turnberry in Scotland. Between 1995 and 2007 the tournament was held at the K Club in Straffan, Ireland, before moving again in 2008, this time to the Jack Nicklaus-designed Heritage course at the London Golf Club near Sevenoaks Sevenoaks is a town in Kent with a population of 29,506 situated south-east of London, England. European Tour
The European Tour (currently known as the DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons), legally the PGA European Tour is the leading men's professional golf tour in Europe. The organisation also operates the European Senior Tour (for players aged fifty or older) and the developmental Challenge Tour; the second tier of men’s professional golf in Europe. The tour's headquarters are at the Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, Surrey, England. The European Tour was established by the British-based Professional Golfers' Association through the 1970s, and responsibility was transferred to an independent PGA European Tour organisation in 1984. South Ayrshire ( sco, Sooth Ayrshire; gd, Siorrachd Àir a Deas, ) is one of thirty-two council areas of Scotland, covering the southern part of Ayrshire. 2022 European Tour
The 2022 European Tour, titled as the 2022 DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons, is the 51st season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 1st edition of the DP World Tour Rankings. It is the first season of the tour under a title sponsorship agreement with DP World, that was announced in November 2021. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2022 season. Many tournaments had been confirmed independently ahead of the official announcement in November 2021, when the majority of the tournaments were confirmed along with the DP World title sponsorship agreement. The schedule includes the four major championships, two World Golf Championships and five Rolex Series events. For the first time, as part of a new "strategic alliance" between the two tours, there were also three regular tournaments co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour. Winsen (Luhe)
Winsen (Luhe) () is the capital of the district of Harburg, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the small river Luhe, near its confluence with the Elbe, approx. 25 km southeast of Hamburg, and 20 km northwest of Lüneburg. History Winsen was first mentioned in a document of the Diocese of Verden in 1158. Winsen Castle, first mentioned in 1315, was built at a crossing over the Luhe to protect the harbor. At the beginning of the 15th century, the Church of Saint Mary was built. In 1593, Dorothea of Denmark, widow of William the Younger, moved into Winsen Castle and lived there until her death in 1617. During this time, the Marstall (stables) was built. In the Thirty Years' War, Danes invaded the town and burned down about 25 houses. On 1 May 1847, Winsen was connected to the Hanover–Hamburg railway of the Royal Hanoverian State Railways.
