Universiade
The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad". The Universiade is referred to in English as the World University Games or World Student Games; however, this latter term can also refer to competitions for sub-University grades students. In July 2020 as part of a new branding system by the FISU, it was stated that the Universiade will be officially branded as the FISU World University Games. The most recent games were held in 2019: the 2019 Winter Universiade, Winter Universiade was held in Krasnoyarsk, Russia while the 2019 Summer Universiade, Summer Universiade was held in Naples, Italy. World University Championships
The FISU World University Championships are part of the sporting events of the International University Sports Federation. Launched the FISU World University Championships in 1963, with Lund, Sweden hosting the Handball event. Championships In the year of the Universiade, the Championships shall be the same as the World Games tournament. Hogu
Hogu (호구) is the armor worn by practitioners of Taekwondo and Geomdo during sparring and competition. Translated into English, ''hogu'' means chest or chest protector. The ''hogu'' has been used in World Taekwondo sparring since the 1950s and is considered the most important piece of sparring equipment in the Taekwondo practitioner's arsenal. The ''hogu'' is the most common scoring area in Taekwondo sparring. The ''hogu'' is hit by the heel, the sole and the top of the foot by many kicking techniques like the roundhouse kick or the back kick, and can also be hit with the fist. ''Hogu''s are made by various companies such as Adidas and Dae Do; only certain brands of chest protector are approved by World Taekwondo. The chest protector is mandatory in World Taekwondo- or Olympic-style competition; however, it is not used in International Taekwon-Do Federation-style sparring. European Taekwondo Union
The European Taekwondo Union (ETU) or World Taekwondo Europe (WTE) is the official governing body for all Taekwondo matters in Europe as a regional organisation of World Taekwondo. It comprises the National Taekwondo Federations of all the European member nations and regulates all Taekwondo matters on a continental basis. The first participating countries in the ETU were Spain, Belgium, Austria, Portugal, Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands, Turkey, Greece, Denmark and the UK. The first president was Antonio Garcia de la Fuente. The First European Championships of the ETU were held in Barcelona on May 22–23, 1976. After being considered only a demonstration sports event twice - in Seoul 1988 and Barcelona 1992 - the WTF style (Olympic Style Taekwondo) - was incorporated as a full Olympic discipline in Sydney in 2000.
