Pampanga National High School (also known as Pampanga High School, or PHS) is a high school in San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines. It was formerly known as Jose Abad Santos High School. The current main building was completed in 1935, follows Standard Plan No. 20 of Gabaldon schoolhouses, and is being restored as part of the Heritage Schoolhouse Restoration Program of the Department of Education. the school offers academic course strands of Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM), General Academic Strand (GAS) and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Strand (STEM), plus vocational courses in Beauty/Nail Care, Hairdressing, and Wellness Massage. Pampanga, officially the Province of Pampanga ( pam, Lalawigan ning Pampanga; tl, Lalawigan ng Pampanga ), is a province in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines. The Thomasites were a group of 600 American teachers who traveled from the United States to the newly occupied territory of the Philippines on the U.S. Army Transport ''Thomas''. The group included 346 men and 180 women, hailing from 43 different states and 193 colleges, universities, and normal schools. The term 'Thomasites' has since expanded to include any teacher who arrived in the first few years of the American colonial period of the Philippines. Oscar "Oca" Samson Rodriguez (born September 19, 1945) was the mayor of San Fernando, Pampanga in the Philippines from 2004 until his maximum third term in 2013. Rodriguez was formerly a member of Lakas-Kampi-CMD but switched to Liberal Party during the 2010 Philippine general elections. Rodriguez is currently the president of the League of Cities of the Philippines, chairman of the Regional Development Council of Central Luzon, and vice president of the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines. Diosdado Pangan Macapagal Sr. (; September 28, 1910 – April 21, 1997) was a Filipino lawyer, poet and politician who served as the ninth president of the Philippines, serving from 1961 to 1965, and the sixth vice president, serving from 1957 to 1961.
