Pamilacan
Pamilacan is an island barangay in the Philippines, situated south of Bohol island and surrounded by the Bohol Sea (also called Mindanao Sea). It is one of the of 17 barangays that compose the municipality of Baclayon. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 1,418, comprising about 240 families whose main livelihoods now concentrate on dolphin- and whale-watching tours and subsistence fishing, but in the past also included whale, dolphin and manta ray hunting. Pamilacan perhaps means "resting place of the mantas", but it can also be considered to derive from the word ''pamilac'', or harpoon, a device that was historically used to capture the mantas, dolphins and whales. On the northeast part of the island is a 200yearold Spanish fort, which in the past served as a watchtower for the Spaniards to look out for intruders, such as pirates and other enemies, particularly those coming from the south. Baclayon, Bohol
Baclayon, officially the Municipality of Baclayon ( ceb, Munisipalidad sa Baclayon; tgl, Bayan ng Baclayon), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 22,461 people. It is the home town of actor Cesar Montano, and physicist Caesar Saloma. The town of Baclayon, Bohol celebrates its feast on December 10, to honor the town patron Immaculate Conception. History Baclayon was the first municipality to be established in Bohol by the Spaniards and included originally the areas now made up by the municipalities of Alburquerque, Balilihan, Corella, and Sikatuna. Its original name was Bacayan, from the root word ''bacay'', meaning "detour" in reference to the fact that travellers used to make a detour there around a rocky cliff. Panglao, officially the Municipality of Panglao ( ceb, Munisipalidad sa Panglao; tgl, Bayan ng Panglao), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 39,839 people. It is one of two municipalities that make up Panglao Island (the other being Dauis). Panglao is known for its diving locations and tourist resorts. The name Panglao may have come from its former name ''Panglawod'', meaning "to the open sea", or derived from the word ''panggaw'', referring to a fishing implement used by locals. Panglao has educational institutions, including the San Agustin Academy (Panglao), Lourdes National High School, the Cristal and elementary schools located in every barangay (including the Panglao Central Elementary School). Punta Cruz Watchtower
The Fort of Saint Vincent Ferrer ( es, Fuerte de San Vicente Ferrer) or commonly known as Punta Cruz Watchtower ( tl, Bantayan ng Punta Cruz) is a Spanish colonial era watchtower located at the western tip of the municipality of Maribojoc, Bohol, Philippines. Also known as ''Maribojoc Watchtower'' because of its geographical location, it is located three kilometers () away from Maribojoc Church. It is known for being the "''only perfect isosceles triangle''" tower-fort structure in the Philippines. Balilihan, officially the Municipality of Balilihan ( ceb, Lungsod sa Balilihan; tgl, Bayan ng Balilihan), is a 4th class rural municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. Nudibranchs () are a group of soft-bodied marine gastropod molluscs which shed their shells after their larval stage. Moray eels, or Muraenidae (), are a family of eels whose members are found worldwide. There are approximately 200 species in 15 genera which are almost exclusively marine, but several species are regularly seen in brackish water, and a few are found in fresh water. Sea Turtle
Sea turtles (superfamily Chelonioidea), sometimes called marine turtles, are reptiles of the order Testudines and of the suborder Cryptodira. The seven existing species of sea turtles are the flatback, green, hawksbill, leatherback, loggerhead, Kemp's ridley, and olive ridley sea turtles. All six of the sea turtle species present in US waters (all of those listed above except the flatback) are listed as endangered and/or threatened under the Endangered Species Act. Sea Snake
Sea snakes, or coral reef snakes, are elapid snakes that inhabit marine environments for most or all of their lives. They belong to two subfamilies, Hydrophiinae and Laticaudinae. Hydrophiinae also includes Australasian terrestrial snakes, whereas Laticaudinae only includes the sea kraits (''Laticauda''), of which three species are found exclusively in freshwater. If these three freshwater species are excluded, there are 69 species of sea snakes divided between seven genera. Most sea snakes are venomous, except the genus ''Emydocephalus'', which feeds almost exclusively on fish eggs. Bohol Sea
The Bohol Sea, also called the Mindanao Sea, is a sea located between the Visayas and Mindanao islands in the Philippines. It lies south of Bohol and Leyte and north of Mindanao. Siquijor and Camiguin are its two major islands. The major cities along the coastline of the sea are Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Butuan, Dumaguete, Ozamiz and Tagbilaran.
