Pam Austin
Pamela Austin (born March 12, 1950) is an American former professional tennis player. College career Austin played college tennis at UCLA and won a Pacific-8 Conference doubles championship while she was there. Pamela Austin (born Pamela Joan Akert, December 20, 1941) is an American actress. Early life Austin was born in Omaha, Nebraska. She spent part of her childhood in Europe, as her father served a tour of duty with the Air Force there. Austin studied dancing at Sacramento State College, and found work with the Tony Martin nightclub act upon arriving in Hollywood. Career In addition to appearing in two Elvis Presley films, in 1964-1967 Austin gained fame for a long series of popular automobile television commercials (and print ads) for Dodge (the Charger, Coronet, Polara, and other models). As the perky "Dodge Rebellion Girl", she appeared in around twenty commercials as a damsel in distress — menaced by sharks, falling from a drawbridge, a roof, a cargo plane, etc. Her tag line at the end of each ad was "The Dodge Rebellion wants you!" Margaret Court defeated Nancy Richey in the final, 6–2, 6–2 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1969 US Open. Denise Austin (née Katnich; born February 13, 1957) is an American physical fitness, fitness instructor, author, and columnist, and a former member of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Early life Austin was born in San Pedro, Los Angeles, California. She started gymnastics at the age of 12, which led to an athletic scholarship at the University of Arizona. Tracy Ann Austin Holt (born December 12, 1962) is an American former world No. 1 tennis player. She won three Grand Slam titles: the women's singles titles at the 1979 and 1981 US Opens, and the mixed doubles title at the 1980 Wimbledon Championships. Additionally, she won the WTA Tour Championships in 1980 and the year-ending Toyota Championships in 1981, both in singles. The 1974 World Team Tennis season was the inaugural season (sports), season of the top professional sports, professional team tennis sports league, league in the United States. The Denver Racquets defeated the Philadelphia Freedoms (1974), Philadelphia Freedoms in the WTT Finals to win the league's first championship. William Jeffrey Austin (born July 5, 1951) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Tennis career Austin, an All-American on four occasions, played tennis for the UCLA Bruins and was a member of their 1970 and 1971 NCAA Championship winning teams.
