Palomar Health is a California health care district in San Diego County. It operates Palomar Medical Center in Escondido (opened 2012), Pomerado Hospital in Poway, and many other locations. Covering , Palomar Health is California's largest health care district by area. The district was formed in 1984, replacing the Escondido Valley Hospital Association which itself was formed in 1945. Escondido is a city in San Diego County, California, United States. Located in the North County region, it was incorporated in 1888, and is one of the oldest cities in San Diego County.
