Palletooru
''Palletooru'' () is a 1952 Indian Telugu-language drama film directed by T. Prakash Rao in his directorial debut. It stars N. T. Rama Rao and Savitri, with music composed by Ghantasala. It was produced by P. Sivaramayya under People's Art Productions banner. The film was a big hit and initiated a trend of films with rural settings and social themes. Plot Chandram is a dynamic youth of a village who educates the villagers about new scientific techniques to develop their agriculture skills. He falls for a beautiful girl Suguna, daughter of a farmer Sambayya. The village head Ganapati poses himself as a devotee but was actually a malevolent person who tries to cease Chandram's activities along with his associate Sankaram. Once Ganapathi tries to molest his henchmen Kondayya's wife Santha, the cousin of Chandram but she escapes. Chadalavada Kutumba Rao, popularly known as Chadalavada (died 1968), was a Tollywood actor well known for his comedian roles. He appeared in many Telugu films. Hemalatha (19262019) was an Indian actress of Telugu cinema, of Andhra Pradesh, India. She acted in more than 100 films during the 1950s to 1976. The first movie she acted was Palletooru. She retired from movies in 1976, with ''Seethamma Santhanam'' being the film she last appeared. After retiring from movies, she was involved in Brahma Kumaris movement in Hyderabad till her death. Nagabhushanam (actor)
C. Nagabushanam (19 April 1921 – 5 May 1995) was an Indian actor known for his works in Telugu cinema and Telugu theatre. He acted in more than 350 films from the 1950s to the 1980s. He primarily acted in villain and character actor roles. Nagabushanam was a trendsetter in enacting comic villain characters. He was also known by the title “Natabhooshana” (). He acted in with more than 5000 shows of the play ''Raktha Kanneeru'' () due to which he also became known as “Raktha Kanneeru Nagabhushanam”. His first film was '' Palletooru'' (1952). Pillavalu Gajapathy Krishnaveni (3 November 1935 – 16 August 2004), more famously known as Jikki, was an Indian playback singer from Andhra Pradesh. She sang around 10,000 songs in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and Sinhalese languages. Early life Jikki was born in Chennai on 3 November 1935. Her parents Gajapathi Naidu and Rajakanthamma, a Telugu family, had moved from Chandragiri, near Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh to Chennai for their livelihood. Her uncle, Devaraju Naidu, worked as a music composer with the celebrated Kannada theatre legend and movie pioneer Gubbi Veeranna and this introduced the young Jikki to the music and film world. Mikkilineni Radhakrishna Murthy (7 July 1914 - 23 February 2011) was an Indian actor and thespian known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He was the founder of the theater group ''Praja Natya Mandali''. He has received the honorary ''Kalaprapoorna'' from Andhra University, for his contributions towards Telugu theater and cinema. Ghantasala Venkateswararao (4 December 1922 – 11 February 1974), known mononymously by his surname as Ghantasala, was an Indian playback singer and film composer known for his works predominantly in Telugu and Kannada cinema and also in Tamil, Malayalam, Tulu and Hindi language films. He is considered as one of the greatest singers of Telugu cinema. In 1970, he received the Padma Shri award, India's fourth highest civilian award for his contribution to Indian cinema. Savitri Ganesan (born Nissankara Savitri; 6 December 1935 – 26 December 1981) was an Indian actress, playback singer, dancer, director, and producer known for her works primarily in Telugu and Tamil cinema.
