Palam Marg
Palam Marg is essentially a stretch of the Outer Ring Road of New Delhi which serves as the access point to the affluent neighbourhood of Vasant Vihar in South West Delhi. On one side of the road, there are twenty five houses which are a mixture of embassies and high profile residences. These, separated from the main road by a service road, are considered to be among the best addresses in Delhi and since the plots of land are large, come at a premium. On the other side of the road are a mixture of parks and the famous Malai Mandir. Vasant Vihar
Vasant Vihar is a diplomatic and residential sub-division of the South West Delhi in National Capital Territory of Delhi, India. It is located near the diplomatic area of Chanakyapuri, and houses over 50 diplomatic missions of foreign countries, including the High Commission of South Africa, and embassy of Argentina. History It was originally developed in 1960s by retired Government of India officers, later developed as a posh residential locality like Air India And Indian Airlines Colony due to its proximity to diplomatic enclave of Chanakyapuri. Locality The four main streets in Vasant Vihar are Munirka Marg, Vasant Marg, Poorvi Marg and Paschimi Marg, literally Eastern and Western Street. Malai Mandir
Uttara Swami Malai Temple, popularly known as Malai Mandir (literally, Hill Temple in Tamil), is a Hindu temple complex in New Delhi, India located on the affluent Palam Marg primarily dedicated to Lord Swaminatha (more commonly known as Lord Murugan), most revered by the religious Hindus of Tamil and other South Indian community in the city. One can easily reach this temple by metro, nearest metro station is Vasant Vihar which is around 2 km away from there. Architecture The main temple within the complex, formally called Sree Swaminatha Swami Temple, houses the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Swaminatha. It is situated atop a small hillock in Sector-7 R.K. Ajay Bijli
Ajay Bijli is chairman of PVR Ltd and the owner of PVR Cinemas chain in India. Since 2013 Bijli has been a managing director for CineMAX India and a director for iPic Entertainment Inc. Early life and education Bijli completed his BCom from Hindu College of University of Delhi. After graduating, he joined his family’s transportation business and his father’s Priya Theater in Delhi. Bijli’s father Krishan Mohan Bijli died in 1992 and in 1994 a big fire broke out in the warehouse of his transportation business. On the advice of his mother, Bijli wrote cheques to all of those whose goods were gutted in the fire. PVR Ltd (formerly Priya Village Roadshow Ltd), doing business as PVR Cinemas, is an Indian multiplex chain based in Gurgaon. PVR pioneered the multiplex revolution in India by establishing the first multiplex cinema in 1997 at Saket, New Delhi. History PVR Cinemas has its origin as Priya Cinema in Vasant Vihar, Delhi, the Cinema was named after Priya Jaisinghani and was bought by Ajay Bijli's father in 1978, who also owned a trucking business, Amritsar Transport Co. Aroon Purie
Aroon Purie (born 1944) is the founder-publisher and editor-in-chief of ''India Today'', and former chief executive of the India Today Group. He is the managing director of Thomson Press (India) Limited and the chairman and managing director of ''TV Today''. He is a recipient of the Padma Bhushan award. He was also the editor-in-chief of ''Reader's Digest India''. In October 2017, he passed control of the India Today Group to his daughter, Kalli Purie.
