Paladin Stadium
Paladin Stadium is a 16,000-seat stadium located near Greenville, South Carolina, USA. It was built in 1981 at a cost of $2 million, and originally seated 13,200 fans. It was expanded to its current capacity in 1985, and is currently home to the Furman Paladins football team. The stadium was converted to field turf before the 2013 season. In addition to football, Paladin Stadium is also used for graduation ceremonies and concerts. On January 9, 2023, the Greenville Triumph and Greenville Liberty soccer teams announced Paladin Stadium as their homes for the 2023 USL League One and USL W League seasons. Greenville Triumph SC is a professional soccer team based in Greenville, South Carolina, United States. The club began play in USL League One in 2019. History The formation of USL D3 was first announced in April 2017, and league officials began touring the country looking for candidate cities for new soccer clubs. USL D3 vice president Steven Short visited Greenville in July 2017, and told local reporters at the time that Greenville was one of the league's top candidates. In January 2018, the league began announcing teams that would play in their 2019 inaugural season. The Furman Paladins football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the Furman University located in the state of South Carolina. The team competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) as members of the Southern Conference (SoCon). The school's first football team was fielded in 1889. USL W League
The USL W League (USLW) is a pre-professional women's soccer league in the United States which began play in May 2022. It was announced on June 8, 2021 by the United Soccer League with eight founding clubs. It follows the USL W-League, a similar league that existed from 1995 to 2015. At launch, the USL said the inaugural season would include at least 30 teams.
