Pala Parish
Pala Parish ( et, Pala vald) is a former rural municipality in eastern Estonia. It was a part of Jõgeva County. The municipality had a population of 1,363 (as of 1 January 2004) and covered an area of 156.71 km². The population density was 8.7 inhabitants per km². There was a total of 23 villages in Pala Parish. Administrative centre of the municipality was Pala with population of 276. It was first mentioned in 1582 as Pallawes. There are a school, a musical school, a library and a cultural centre in Pala village. Pala Parish is also described as being in a better overall condition then other parishes around the area. A municipality ( et, omavalitsus, plural ) is the smallest administrative subdivision of Estonia. Each municipality is a unit of self-government with its representative and executive bodies. The municipalities in Estonia cover the entire territory of the country. Municipalities in Estonia are of two types: *Urban municipalities or towns (, singular ) *Rural municipalities or Parish (administrative division), parishes (, singular ). Sooru
Sooru is a village in Valga Parish, Valga County in southern Estonia. It's located about 10 km northeast of the town of Valga, Estonia, Valga. Sooru has a population of 295 (as of 2011) and an area of 14.62 km². Sooru borders the Väike Emajõgi River on its northeastern side. Sooru Manor was first mentioned in 1388 as ''Sore'' (also known as ''Soorhof'', ''Soor'' and ''Sora''). Until its dispossession in 1920–1922 the manor had many owners.
