PalaGalassi, also called Unieuro Arena for sponsorship reasons, is an indoor arena located in Forlì, Italy. The capacity of the arena is 5,676 people for basketball matches. It is home of the Pallacanestro Forlì 2.015 of the Serie A2 Basket and the volleyball team Volley Forlì. History It was opened on March 29, 1987, for the basketball match between Libertas Forlì and Viola Reggio Calabria. Here was played the finals of basketball Coppa Italia of LBA in 1990, 1992, 1993 and all the events between 2001 and 2006. In 2009 it hosted the volleyball Final Four of Coppa Italia. The Italian Basketball Cup (Italian: Coppa Italiana di Pallacanestro), or Coppa Italia, is an annual professional basketball competition between pro clubs from the Italian Basketball League (LBA). It is Italy's first-tier cup competition, and is not to be confused with Italy's second-tier cup competition, the Italian Legadue Cup. History and format The first edition of the Italian Cup championship took place in 1968, and was won by Partenope Napoli. Fulgor Libertas Forlì was an Italian professional basketball team based in Forlì, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. The club ceased operating in January 2015 due to financial problems. History Fulgor Forlì was founded in 1949 by Stefano Cozzi. It reached the national Serie C by the 1954-55 season, returning to the Promozione in 1957. A promotion to the Serie D in 1969-70 was followed by others to the Serie C2 (1979–80), Serie C1 (1982–83), Serie B2 (1985–86). The Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) is a professional men's club basketball league that has been organised in Italy since 1920. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996.
