Paku Divinity School
The Paku Divinity School is a Baptist theological institute in Taungoo, Bago Division, Myanmar. It is affiliated with the Paku Karen Baptist Association. The campus can be accessed from Myo Gyi and Boundary roads. The theology program is approved by Association for Theological Education in Myanmar (ATEM). History The Paku Divinity School, originally known as Paku Bible School, was founded in 1977 by the Paku Karen Baptist Association. The Paku Divinity School is a Christian Bible school which produces approximately 80 Christian leaders every year and is affiliated to the Karen Baptist Theological Seminary. Paku Karen Baptist Association
Paku Karen Baptist Association, also known as Paku Kayin Baptist Association is a Baptist Christian denomination in Myanmar. It is affiliated with the Karen Baptist Convention. History It was founded in 1856 by the American Baptist Mission. With the departure of American Baptist missionaries from Myanmar, the association has been entirely staffed by nationals. After the PKBA reconstituted, the first executive secretary was Rev Letta. Now, PKBA has 150 churches. PKBA headquarters are in Taungoo, Bago Division. There are four regions: Bago Division East, Bago Division West, Karen States and Kayah States. It had Paku High School, and the first headmaster was Rev Cross (ABM). Today it's No.5 Basic Education High School. The Karen Baptist Theological Seminary ( ksw, ပှၤကညီဘျၢထံယွၤဂ့ၢ်ပီညါဖၠၣ်စိမိၢ) is a Baptist theological institute in Seminary Hill, Insein, Yangon, Myanmar. Taungoo
Taungoo (, ''Tauñngu myoú''; ; also spelled Toungoo) is a district-level city in the Bago Region of Myanmar, 220 km from Yangon, towards the north-eastern end of the division, with mountain ranges to the east and west. The main industry is in forestry products, with teak and other hardwoods extracted from the mountains. The city is known for its areca palms, to the extent that a Burmese proverb for unexpected good fortune is equated to a "betel lover winning a trip to Taungoo". The city is famous in Burmese history for the Toungoo dynasty which ruled the country for over 200 years between the 16th and 18th centuries. Bago Division
Bago Region ( my, ပဲခူးတိုင်းဒေသကြီး, ; formerly Pegu Division and Bago Division) is an administrative region of Myanmar, located in the southern central part of the country. It is bordered by Magway Region and Mandalay Region to the north; Kayin State, Mon State and the Gulf of Martaban to the east; Yangon Region to the south and Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State to the west.
