Pakistan Eaglets Cricket Team
Pakistan Eaglets were a team of young cricketers from Pakistan, founded by Justice A.R. Cornelius. They toured England and Wales every year from 1952 to 1959, Malaya and Ceylon in 1960-61, and England again in 1963. Most of their matches were non- first-class, but they played 11 first-class matches between 1960 and 1963. Many Pakistan Eaglets players went on to play Test cricket for Pakistan. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Associated Cement Company Cricket Team
Associated Cement Company were an Indian first-class cricket team, sponsored by the Associated Cement Company, that competed in the Moin-ud-Dowlah Gold Cup Tournament and played other first-class matches between 1961 and 1971. Tour of Pakistan, 1961-62 Under the captaincy of the former Test player Madhav Mantri, who had just turned 40 and had not played regular first-class cricket since 1956-57, Associated Cement Company toured Pakistan in September 1961, playing three first-class matches. Ebrahim Maka and Rusi Modi were two other members of the team whose Test careers had finished in the early 1950s. In contrast, Dilip Sardesai played his first Test a few weeks after the tour, and five members of the team made their first-class debuts in the match in Lahore against Pakistan Eaglets. Intikhab Alam
Intikhab Alam Khan (Urdu:) (born 28 December 1941) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who played in 47 Test matches and four One Day Internationals from 1959 to 1977. He captained Pakistan in 17 Tests between 1969 and 1975. He also played in English county cricket for Surrey between 1969 and 1981. Prior to this Intikhab was professional for several years at West of Scotland Cricket Club in Glasgow and also coached at The Glasgow Academy. In August 1967, at the Oval, he joined Asif Iqbal for a ninth wicket stand of 190 runs. This remained as a World record for around 30 years. Intikhab was Pakistan's first One Day International cricket captain. He played 3 matches as captain, winning two and losing one. Asif Iqbal (cricketer, Born 1943)
Asif Iqbal Razvi (Urdu: آصف اقبال رضوی, born 6 June 1943) is a former Pakistani professional cricketer who captained the Pakistan national cricket team and Kent County Cricket Club. He went on to become a match referee. Born in Hyderabad, Asif Iqbal is related to former India captain Ghulam Ahmed and Indian tennis star Sania Mirza. He played as an all-rounder who batted right-handed batsman and bowled right-arm medium pace deliveries. Asif played domestically for Hyderabad, Karachi, Kent, National Bank of Pakistan and Pakistan International Airlines. After learning his cricket in Hyderabad, India, he emigrated to Pakistan in 1961, where he opened the bowling with swing bowling before concentrating on batting that was noted for its footwork and cavalier cover-driving. Mohammad Munaf (cricketer)
Mohammad Munaf (2 November 1935 – 28 January 2020) was a Pakistani cricketer who played in four Tests from 1959 to 1962. He played first-class cricket in Pakistan from 1953 to 1971. Early life and education Munaf was born in Bombay to a Konkani family who migrated to Pakistan from the west coast of Maharashtra. He was educated at Sindh Maddrasa-tul-Islam. Career After settling in Karachi, he, as a strapping young fast bowler, made his name in the Rubie Shield school tournament. At that time, he was good enough with the bat to have opened the batting with Hanif Mohammad for Sind Madrassah. Khadim H. Mushtaq Mohammad
Mushtaq Mohammad PP (Urdu: مشتاق محمد; born 22 November 1943) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who played in 57 Tests and 10 ODIs from 1959 to 1979. A right-handed batsman and a leg-spinner, he is one of the most successful Pakistani all-rounders and went on to captain his country in nineteen Test matches. He was the first and to date only Pakistani to score a century and take five wickets in an innings in the same test match twice. He was one of the five Mohammad brothers, four of whom played cricket for Pakistan. Faqir Aizazuddin
Faqir Syed Aizazuddin (17 August 1935 – 8 May 2017), also known as Aizaz Faqir, Fakir Aizazuddin and S. A. V. Fakir, was a Pakistani cricketer. Early career Aizazuddin made his first-class debut during his five years of study at Cambridge University. In the 1957 season, when the university side was looking for opening batsmen, he was one of numerous batsmen tried in that position, but in five games he made only 61 runs and took one wicket with his leg-spin, and he lost his place. When he returned to Pakistan he began playing for Khairpur, with one appearance in 1959–60. He captained Khairpur in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy in 1961–62, beginning the season by taking three wickets and top-scoring in each innings for Khairpur against Bahawalpur – 29 and 53 in a low-scoring match that Khairpur won by eight runs. Derbyshire County Cricket Club
Derbyshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Derbyshire. Its limited overs team is called the Derbyshire Falcons in reference to the famous peregrine falcon which nests on the Derby Cathedral (it was previously called the Derbyshire Scorpions until 2005 and the Phantoms until 2010). Worcestershire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Worcestershire. Its Vitality Blast T20 team has been rebranded the Worcestershire Rapids, but the county is known by most fans as 'the Pears'. The club is based at New Road, Worcester. Kent County Cricket Club is one of the eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Kent. A club representing the county was first founded in 1842 but Kent teams have played top-class cricket since the early 18th century, and the club has always held first-class status. The current Kent County Cricket Club was formed on 6 December 1870 following the merger of two representative teams. Kent have competed in the County Championship since the official start of the competition in 1890 and have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. Cambridge University Cricket Team
Cambridge University Cricket Club, first recorded in 1817, is the representative cricket club for students of the University of Cambridge. Depending on the circumstances of each individual match, the club has always been recognised as holding first-class status. The university played List A cricket in 1972 and 1974 only. It has not played top-level Twenty20 cricket. With some 1,200 members, home matches are played at Fenner's. The club has three men's teams (Blues, Crusaders and the Colleges XI) and one women's team which altogether play nearly 100 days of cricket each season. Wazir Mohammad
Wazir Mohammad (born 22 December 1929) is a former Pakistani cricketer and banker who played in 20 Test matches for Pakistan national cricket team between 1952 and 1959. Wazir was a determined middle-order batsman with a strong defence. His highest Test score was 189, in the Fifth Test against West Indies at Port of Spain in 1957-58, when he batted for six and three-quarter hours and laid the foundation for Pakistan's innings victory. He was Pakistan's top-scorer with 42 not out when they won by 24 runs against England at The Oval in 1954. His first-class career extended from 1950 to 1964, when he captained Karachi Whites to a narrow defeat in the final of the 1963-64 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
