Pakistan Boxing Federation
The Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) is the governing body of amateur boxing in Pakistan. The Pakistan Amateur Boxing Federation (PBF) organizes all amateur matches countrywide. It is also responsible for scouting and raising boxers from Pakistan to compete on a worldwide level. Notable boxers Pakistan has seen success at amateur level boxing, despite lack of necessary equipment and facilities. They have won medals at the Olympic and Commonwealth Games. Examples include Quetta-born Haider Ali who won gold at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in the featherweight event, and went on to become a professional boxer. International Boxing Association (amateur)
The International Boxing Association (IBA), previously known as the Association Internationale de Boxe Amateur (AIBA), is an independent sport organization that sanctions amateur (Olympic-style) boxing matches and awards world and subordinate championships. IBA consists of five continental confederations — AFBC, AMBC, ASBC, EUBC, OCBC. The association includes 203 national boxing federations. IBA was recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the international governing body for the sport of boxing until 2019, when the IOC suspended its recognition of the federation. Muhammad Waseem
Muhammad Waseem (born 29 August 1987) is a Pakistani professional boxer who challenged twice for the IBF flyweight title in 2018 and in 2022. Known for his quick and swift style of boxing, Waseem is nicknamed "Falcon". Early life Muhammad Waseem was born in Quetta city of Balochistan, Pakistan. Personal life In 2012, Muhammad Waseem was chosen to be AIBA professional (APB), however his participation failed to be confirmed, to which he stated; " I don't know what went wrong. Pakistan Sports Board ( ur, ) was established under the Ministry of Education in 1962 as a corporate body for the purposes of promoting and developing uniform standards of competition for sports in Pakistan comparable to the standards prevailing internationally, and regulating and controlling sports in Pakistan on a national basis. Subsequently, in July 1977, with the creation of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the administrative control of Pakistan Sports Board was transferred to it. After the devolution of the Ministry of Sports in June 2011, the administrative control of the Pakistan Sports Board has transferred to Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC). Rasheed Baloch (born April 7, 1972) is an Olympian & professional Pakistani Boxer. As an amateur, he was one of the best to ever come from Pakistan and was the Pakistan captain from 1997 to 1998. He took part in the 1996 Olympic games he won his first fight against a Mexican Boxer & lost 2nd match against Kazakhstan Boxer in 67 kg. In the previous year he took Silver in the South Asian Games.
