Pain (typeset as PAIN) is a musical project from Sweden that mixes heavy metal with influences from electronic music and techno. The project started out as a hobby project for frontman Peter Tägtgren, whose idea was to fuse heavy metal with 1980s-inspired electro-industrial and techno influences. Tägtgren, who is also the vocalist/guitarist of Hypocrisy and producer of his own ''The Abyss'' studios, is the only current member. Indica (Finnish Band)
Indica is a Finnish symphonic metal band with pop rock tendencies, founded in 2001. Jani Jalonen of Sony Music Entertainment, Sony Music became interested in the group, and a recording contract was signed 2003. Indica's first album, ''Ikuinen virta'' was released in 2004. It has since sold platinum in Finland. Indica supported Nightwish during their Scandinavian tour 2007 in which they performed English versions of their songs. ''Dark Passion Play'' is the sixth studio album by Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. It was released on 26 September 2007 by Spinefarm Records in Finland, 28 September by Nuclear Blast in Europe and 2 October 2007 by Roadrunner Records in the US. Power metal is a subgenre of heavy metal combining characteristics of traditional heavy metal with speed metal, often within symphonic context. Symphonic Metal
Symphonic metal is a cross-generic style designation for the symphonic subsets of heavy metal music subgenres. It is used to denote any metal band that makes use of symphonic or orchestral elements. The style features the heavy drums and guitars of metal with different elements of orchestral classical music, such as symphonic instruments, choirs and sometimes a full orchestra, or just keyboard orchestration. Symphonic metal bands can feature classically trained vocalists, in which case they can be attributed nicknames such as opera metal or operatic metal. Pain is a distressing feeling often caused by intense or damaging stimuli.
