Luigi Batzella
Luigi Batzella (San Sperate, 1924 – San Sperate, 2008) also known as Paolo Solvay was an Italian film director, editor, screenwriter and actor. He made numerous low-budget genre films. Life and career Luigi Batzella was born in San Sperate, Sardinia in 1924. After what film historian and critic Roberto Curti described as "a nondescript career as an actor," Batzella began his career as a director in 1966 with the war film '' Tre franchi die pietà''. After directing a few low budget westerns, Batzella directed his first horror film ''The Devil's Wedding Night'' which was directed with an uncredited Joe D'Amato. Following the release of his next horror film ''Nude for Satan'' in 1978, Batzella directed two Nazisploitation films ''Kaput Lager – Gli ultimi giorni delle SS'' and ''La Bestia in calore'' for which he was credited as Ivan Kathansky. Krista Nell
Krista Nell (1946–1975) was an Austrian film actress. Born Doris Kristanel, Krista Nell debuted in French cinema, then moved to Rome where became a minor starlet in Italian genre films, especially Spaghetti Westerns and commedie sexy all'italiana."Decameroticus", ''Nocturno Dossier'' n.56, March 2007, p.10 Nell went on to star in such films as '' Ivanhoe, the Norman Swordsman'', and Spaghetti Westerns such as '' Paid in Blood'', '' Blindman'', '' Kill Django... Nell's final film was ''The Bloodsucker Leads the Dance'' in which she was supposed to be the main actress, but, because of her physical conditions, she turned in a secondary role. Spaghetti Western
The Spaghetti Western is a broad subgenre of Western films produced in Europe. It emerged in the mid-1960s in the wake of Sergio Leone's film-making style and international box-office success. The term was used by foreign critics because most of these Westerns were produced and directed by Italians. Leone's films and other core Spaghetti Westerns are often described as having eschewed, criticized, or even "demythologized" many of the conventions of traditional U.S. Westerns. This was partly intentional and partly the context of a different cultural background.
