Pago River
The Pago River is one of the longest rivers in the United States territory of Guam. It is fed by two inland rivers, Lonfit River and Sigua River. Rising close to the west coast, it traverses the island, flowing into the sea at Pago Bay in the central east coast. The village of Yona lies just to the south of the river's mouth. Guam
Guam (; ch, Guåhan ) is an organized, unincorporated territory of the United States in the Micronesia subregion of the western Pacific Ocean. Lonfit River
The Lonfit River is a river in the United States territory of Guam. It empties into the Pago River. Contaminants from the Ordot Dump in Chalan Pago-Ordot, Guam, which was closed in 2011, leached into the river. Pago Bay
Pago Bay is the largest bay on the U.S. territory of Guam, located at the mouth of Pago River on the island's eastern coast. There is extensive evidence of CHamoru settlement before Spanish colonization during the late seventeenth century. During the Spanish-Chamorro Wars, the Spanish transferred the populations of Tinian and Aguigan to the village of Pago (). However, a smallpox epidemic in 1856 killed much of the village's population and the Spanish moved survivors to other villages, leaving the bay shoreline largely uninhabited. Yona, Guam
Yona ( ch, Yoʼña ) is a village in the United States territory of Guam. History Yona was historically a farming community but today is mostly residential. During World War II, the Japanese forced the indigenous Chamorros to march from camps in northern Guam to prison camps in Yona shortly before the Americans liberated the island. Japanese tanks in the area near the Segua River serve as reminders of the war. Today, the LeoPalace Resort is located in the Manenggon Hills. The LeoPalace Resort is also used for association football. Geography The village of Yona has an area of and is located on the eastern side of Guam between Pago River and Togcha River.
