Padukone is a coastal village in Byndoor Taluk, Udupi District. It is also a surname from coastal Karnataka in India. Padukone Village surrounded by the Souparnika River. Prakash Padukone (born 10 June 1955) is a former Indian badminton player. He was ranked World No. 1 in 1980; the same year he became the first Indian to win the All England Open Badminton Championships. Udupi District
Udupi district (also Udipi or Odipu in Tulu language) is an administrative subdivision in the Karnataka state of India, with the district headquarters in the city of Udupi. It is situated in the Canara coastal region, there are seven taluks, 233 villages and 21 towns in Udupi district. The three northern tehsils of Udupi, Kundapur and Karkala, were partitioned from Dakshina Kannada district (South Canara) to form Udupi district on 25 August 1997. Maravanthe is a village and a beach in Byndoor Taluk, Udupi District, Karnataka, India. It is about 115 km from industrial hub Mangalore, 55 km from Udupi.18 km from Kundapura. and 21 km from Byndoor. NH-66 (erstwhile NH-17) runs next to the beach and the Suparnika River flows on the other side of the road. ''Outlook traveller'' considers it one of Karnataka's most beautiful beaches.
