Paddy Riordan
Patrick J. Riordan (31 August 1871 - March 1941) was an Irish hurler who played as a forward for the Tipperary senior team. Born in Drombane, County Tipperary, Riordan first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-three when he first linked up with the Tipperary senior team. He made his debut during the 1894 championship. Riordan went on to play a key part for Tipperary, and won two All-Ireland medals and two Munster medals. At club level Riordan was a three-time championship medallist. He began his club career with Drombane before later joining Upperchurch–Drombane and Thurles. Riordan retired from inter-county hurling following the conclusion of the 1907 championship. Upperchurch–Drombane GAA
Upperchurch–Drombane GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club is located in the area of Upperchurch and Drombane, seven miles from Thurles in mid County Tipperary, Ireland. They compete in hurling at both Senior and Junior A levels and in gaelic football at Senior and Junior B grade. The local GAA pitch is located approximately 1 mile from Drombane village. History It is claimed that P. J. Riordan from Drombane scored all of Tipperary's 6-8 when they beat Kilkenny in the 1895 All Ireland final. If true this would make Riordan the highest ever scorer in an All Ireland final beating the current record of 5-4 by Mick "Gah" Ahern of Cork in the 1928 All-Ireland final. Munster Senior Hurling Championship
The Munster GAA Hurling Senior Championship, known simply as the Munster Championship, is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition organised by the Munster GAA, Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition in the province of Munster, and has been contested every year since the 1888 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship#Munster Senior Hurling Championship, 1888 championship. Thurles (; ''Durlas Éile'') is a town in County Tipperary, Ireland. It is located in the civil parish of the same name in the barony of Eliogarty and in the ecclesiastical parish of Thurles. Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the FBD Insurance Tipperary County Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Tipperary County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1887 for the top hurling teams in the county of Tipperary in Ireland. The series of games are played during the summer and autumn months with the county final currently being played at Semple Stadium in October. The prize for the winning team is the Dan Breen Cup. Thurles Sarsfields GAA
Thurles Sarsfields is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "Mid-Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred in the town of Thurles at Semple Stadium. The club was founded in 1881 and is the most honoured club in the history of the county championship with 36 County Titles.
