Paddy O'Donovan
Patrick Joseph O'Donovan (15 March 1916 – 11 June 1990) was an Irish hurler who played as a right corner-back for the Cork senior team. O'Donovan joined the team during the 1938 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1949 championship. During that time he won five All-Ireland medals, six Munster medals and one National League medal. O'Donovan was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. At club level O'Donovan was a ten-time county club championship medalist with Glen Rovers. Playing career Club O'Donovan played his club hurling with the famous Glen Rovers and enjoyed much success during a golden age for the club. He made his senior debut in 1937 as the Glen were in the throes of dominating club hurling in Cork. Glen Rovers GAA
Glen Rovers is a Cork (city), Cork-based Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Blackpool, Cork, Ireland. The club was founded in 1916 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. They were Cork senior hurling champions in 2015 and 2016, having won their first title in 26 years in 2015. They retained the championship in 2016, when they beat Erin's Own in the final. Only Blackrock have won more Cork senior hurling championships. Hurling Colours In the early days of the club, its colours were green, white and gold. Terry Leahy (hurler)
Thaddeus Leahy (9 March 1917 – November 1988) was an Irish people, Irish sportsperson. He played hurling at various times with his local clubs Emeralds in Kilkenny and Faughs in Dublin. Leahy was also a member of both the Kilkenny and Dublin senior inter-county teams from 1938 until 1949. Playing career Club Leahy played his club hurling with his local Emeralds club in Urlingford, however, he enjoyed little success with the club and never won a senior county title. Leahy later played club hurling with the Faughs club in Dublin and he won seven county titles. Inter-county Leahy first came to prominence on the inter-county scene as a member of the Kilkenny minor team in the 1930s. He won a Leinster title in this grade in 1935 before later lining out in the minor championship decider. Joe Kelly (hurler)
Fr. Joseph Kelly (1923 – June 1994) was an Irish hurler who played as a left corner-forward for the Cork senior team. Kelly joined the team during the 1943 championship and later became a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement following the conclusion of the 1947 championship. During that time he won two All-Ireland medals and three Munster medals. Kelly was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. At club level Kelly played with the famous Glen Rovers. Playing career Club Kelly played his club hurling with the famous Glen Rovers club on the north side of Cork city. He enjoyed little success at minor level before joining the club’s senior team. In spite of the Glen going through a hugely successful period during the 1940s, Kelly helped the team to many championship titles but never played in a county final himself. Mossy O'Riordan
Maurice Francis "Mossy" O'Riordan (1926 - 27 August 2008) was an Irish hurler who played as a right corner-forward for the Cork senior team. Born in Blackrock, County Cork, O'Riordan first played with the Cork senior team at the age of twenty. He made his debut during the 1946 championship. O'Riordan became a regular member of the starting fifteen and won two All-Ireland medals and three Munster medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions O'Riordan won two Railway Cup medals. At club level he played with Blackrock. Christy Ring
Nicholas Christopher Michael Ring (30 October 1920 – 2 March 1979) was an Irish hurling, hurler whose National Hurling League, league and All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, championship career at senior level with the Cork county hurling team, Cork county team spanned twenty-four years from 1939 to 1963. Ted O'Sullivan (hurler)
Timothy O'Sullivan (24 February 1920 – 30 July 1968) was an Irish Hurling, hurler. At club level he played with Midleton GAA, Midleton, Blackrock GAA, Blackrock, St Finbarr's National Hurling & Football Club, St Finbarr's and Castlemartyr GAA, Castlemartyr and was also a member of the Cork senior hurling team. Club career Born in Ballinacurra, County Cork, O'Sullivan first played hurling at juvenile and underage levels with the Midleton GAA, St Enda's club. John Quirke (2 May 1911 – 24 August 1983) was an Irish hurler who played as a right corner-forward for the Cork senior team. Quirke made his first appearance for the team during the 1932 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1946 championship. During that time, he won four All-Ireland medals, four Munster medals and two National League medals. Quirke was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion.
