''Padaiveeran'' () is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Dhana. The film features Vijay Yesudas and debutant Amritha Aiyer in the lead roles, with Bharathiraja and Akhil in supporting roles. The film features music composed by Karthik Raja, editing by Bhuvan Srinivasan, and cinematography by Rajavel Mohan. ''Padaiveeran'' was released on 2 February 2018. Plot The film is based on a true story. Set in modern times in a rural village in Theni in south India, the film portrays communal riots due to caste. Amritha Aiyer (born 14 May 1994) is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Tamil and Telugu language films. She made her acting debut in the Tamil film ''Padaiveeran'' (2018), and her Telugu debut with ''Red'' (2021). Early life Aiyer was born in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Vijay Yesudas (born 23 March 1979) is an Indian playback singer and actor. He has sung over 1000 film songs. Vijay works predominantly in the South Indian film industry, mostly in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. He is the son of acclaimed singer K. J. Yesudas. Mohan Rajan is an Indian lyricist working on Tamil language films. Career Hailing from Valayapatti near Tiruchirappalli, Mohan Rajan arrived in Chennai in 2001, hoping to become a lyricist in the Tamil film industry.
