Douglas Ricardo Packer (born 13 March 1987), better known as Packer, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Brazilian club Marcílio Dias. Club career Born in Indaial, Santa Catarina, Packer started his career at Ipatinga. He signed a professional contract on 1 August 2005, for three years. On 31 August 2005, he was signed by Juventus, and loaned to A.C. Siena for two seasons. In summer 2007, Siena bought half of the player's rights, for €150,000, and loaned Packer to Pescara Calcio of Serie C1. He returned to Siena for the 2008–09 season. Horace Billings Packer (October 11, 1851 – April 13, 1940) was a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. Formative years Horace B. Packer was born in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania on October 11, 1851. He attended the common schools, the Wellsboro Academy, and Alfred University in Alfred, New York. Career Packer studied law, and was admitted to the bar of Tioga County, Pennsylvania, in 1873 and commenced practice in Wellsboro. He was also engaged in the real estate business. District attorney of Tioga County from 1875 to 1879, Packer was then elected to the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives in 1884 and reelected in 1886. Admiral Sir Herbert ("Bertie") Annesley Packer KCB, CBE (9 October 1894 – 23 September 1962) was an officer in the British Royal Navy and ended his career as an Admiral and Commander-in-Chief, South Atlantic. Family background The only son of Dr. William Packer and musician Edith Mary Rutter, he entered the Royal Naval College, Osborne, as an officer cadet on 15 September 1907. Harry Packer (9 September 1868 – 25 May 1946) was an English-born international rugby union prop who played club rugby for Newport and was capped seven times for Wales. Packer had a long association with rugby, as a player, selector, official and in 1924 was the manager of the touring British Isles team. International rugby career Packer was born in Chipping Norton and educated in the South of England, playing rugby at school boy level for Devon County and West Buckland School. After moving to Wales he became part of the Newport team, and while with Newport was selected to represent Wales as part of the 1891 Home Nations Championship.
