Pacific Station (TV Series)
''Pacific Station'' is an American sitcom television series starring Robert Guillaume and Richard Libertini that aired on NBC from September 15, 1991 to January 3, 1992. The series was created by the team of Barry Fanaro, Mort Nathan, Kathy Speer and Terry Grossman. Synopsis ''Pacific Station'' centered around Detective Bob Ballard ( Robert Guillaume), a wisecracking veteran cop who had been assigned to Pacific Station in Venice, California, apparently usually a dumping ground for eccentric and/or incompetent officers. Even more eccentric were the suspects the officers of Pacific Station brought in, as many were from nearby Venice Beach, a celebratedly off-center locale. Barry Fanaro
Barry Fanaro is an American screenwriter of television and feature films. He has taught screenwriting seminars at USC, UCSB, AFI and Mercer University. Early life Fanaro graduated magna cum laude with a dual major from Mercer University, Macon Georgia. He also has an MFA from NYU's Tisch Graduate School of Film and Television. In the early 80s he was a performing member of The Groundling's Improv Theater Group. Career Fanaro wrote and produced over 250 episodes, pilots and original series for network television. He is best known for serving as writer/executive producer of ''The Golden Girls'' during its first four seasons. He was nominated for four Emmys and won two Emmys for Outstanding Writing and Best Comedy Show, Producer. Fanaro was also nominated for two Writers Guild of America Awards and won for Best Writer in 1987. He has three Golden Globes for Best Comedy/Variety Show. Fontella Bass
Fontella Marie Bass (July 3, 1940 – December 26, 2012) was an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter best known for her number-one R&B hit " Rescue Me" in 1965. She has been nominated for a Grammy Award twice. Early life Fontella Bass was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the daughter of gospel singer Martha Bass, who was a member of the Clara Ward Singers, and the older sister of R&B singer David Peaston. At an early age, Fontella showed great musical talent. At the age of five, she provided the piano accompaniment for her grandmother's singing at funeral services, she sang in her church's choir at six, and by the time she was nine, she had accompanied her mother on tours throughout the South and Southwest America. Part II'', aired after the popular ''America's Funniest Home Videos''. The green-lit series, then named ''America's Funniest People'' for the fall season, aired as a weekly half-hour prime time series from September 9, 1990, to August 28, 1994. Nielsen Media Research (NMR) is an American firm that measures media audiences, including television, radio, theatre, films (via the AMC Theatres MAP program), and newspapers.
