''Pacific Blue'' is an American crime drama series about a team of police officers with the Santa Monica Police Department who patrolled its beaches on bicycles. The show ran for five seasons on the USA Network, from March 2, 1996, to April 9, 2000, with a total of 101 episodes. Often described as "''Baywatch'' on bikes", the series was run in many other markets, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Ukraine, Russia, Spain, South America, Sweden, and Zimbabwe. Police Procedural
The police show, or police crime drama, is a subgenre of procedural drama and detective fiction that emphasizes the investigative procedure of a police officer or department as the protagonist(s), as contrasted with other genres that focus on either a private detective, an amateur investigator or the characters who are the targets of investigations. While many police procedurals conceal the criminal's identity until the crime is solved in the narrative climax (the so-called whodunit), others reveal the perpetrator's identity to the audience early in the narrative, making it an inverted detective story. Mountain bike trials, also known as observed trials, is a discipline of mountain biking in which the rider attempts to pass through an obstacle course without setting foot to ground.
