The Pac-12 Conference Softball Coach of the Year is a college softball award given to the Pac-12 Conference's most outstanding coach. The award has been given annually since 1987. The conference was known as the Pacific-10 before becoming the Pac-12 in 2011. Mike Candrea has won the award a record eleven times. The Pac-12 Conference is a collegiate List of NCAA conferences, athletic conference, that operates in the Western United States, participating in 24 sports at the NCAA Division I level. Its College football, football teams compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS; formerly Division I-A), the highest level of college football in the nation. The conference's 12 members are located in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington (state), Washington. Kelly Inouye-Perez
Kelly Keiko Inouye-Perez (born January 2, 1970) Playing career As a player, she was a catcher for UCLA and helped her team to three National Championships and a finish as National Runner-Up in her four playing seasons. She missed the 1991 season due to shoulder surgery. She is a member of the 2022 class of the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame. Mike Candrea
John Michael Candrea (born August 29, 1955) is the former head softball coach at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. He was the head coach of the United States women's national softball team in 2004, when Team USA won a gold medal, and in 2008, bringing home silver. At the time of his retirement in 2021, Candrea was the all-time winningest coach in college softball history, and ranked fourth of any coach in any NCAA sport with 1,674 wins. Education and career beginnings Born in New Orleans, Candrea moved with his family to Phoenix at age seven. He graduated from Sunnyslope High School and later earned an associate degree at Central Arizona College in 1975, a bachelor's degree at Arizona State University in 1978, and a master's degree from Arizona State in 1980.
