Pablo Forlán
Pablo Justo Forlán Lamarque (born July 14, 1945 in Mercedes, Soriano) is a retired Uruguayan footballer, the father of Diego Forlán, and son-in-law of Juan Carlos Corazzo. His mother was of Uruguayan and Spanish descent. Career As a professional footballer Pablo Forlán played for Peñarol (1963–1970), São Paulo FC (1970–1976), Cruzeiro EC (1977), Nacional de Montevideo (1978) and Defensor Sporting (1979–1984). During his career he helped win the Uruguayan league (1964, 1965, 1967, 1968, 1978, 1980, 1982), the Copa Libertadores (1966), the Intercontinental Cup (1966) and the São Paulo state championship (1970, 1971, 1975). Pablo Forlán was also a Uruguayan international, who played at the 1966 and 1974 FIFA World Cups. Soriano Department
Soriano () is a department of Uruguay. Its capital is Mercedes. It is located on the west of the country, south of Río Negro Department, north of Colonia Department and west of Flores Department. Its western border is the Río Uruguay, separating it from Argentina. History In 1624, a Franciscan Mission established a reduction for the indigenous tribes of the area named Santo Domingo Soriano. In spite of interruptions in its existence, it is considered the earliest populated centre of the actual Uruguay. Eventually, in its place Villa Soriano was founded. The first division of Uruguay in departments happened on 27 January 1816. At the time, eight departments were formed, with Soriano being one of them. The Intercontinental Champions' Supercup, commonly referred to as the Intercontinental Supercup or Recopa Intercontinental, was a football competition endorsed by UEFA and CONMEBOL, contested by the past winners of the Intercontinental Cup. The first Intercontinental Cup had been contested in 1960, resulting in a pool of 5 past champions (two from UEFA, three from CONMEBOL) available to contest for the first Intercontinental Supercup, in 1968.
