VK Budva (full name: Vaterpolo klub Budva) is a professional water polo club based in Budva, Montenegro. As of 2021–22 season, it competes in the Montenegrin League and Regional League A1. Names It was formerly known as SD VK Mogren between 1947 and 1992, and as PVK Budvanska Rivijera between 1992 and 2008. In 2008, it changed its name to VK Budva. History It was established in 1946. Montenegrin First League Of Water Polo
The Montenegrin First League of Water Polo is the national professional water polo league in Montenegro. It was established in 2006. shortly after Montenegro declared its independence from Serbia and Montenegro. It is organized by the Water Polo and Swimming Federation of Montenegro. Three clubs from Montenegrin League are playing in Adriatic Water Polo League. History Before independence During their history, Montenegrin water polo clubs played in the top-tier competition of SFR Yugoslavia, FR Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro, with important roles in Yugoslav Water Polo Championship. Among them are PVK Jadran, VK Primorac Kotor and VK Budva. In that competitions, Montenegrin clubs won 6 titles of national champion. Igor Milanović ( sr-Cyrl, Игор Милановић; born 18 December 1965) is a Serbian professional water polo head coach and former player. He is considered one of the best water polo players of all time. Milanović had an illustrious professional career spanning twenty years. Biography Milanović was born in Belgrade, Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia. He played a total of 349 games for the Yugoslav national team, scoring 540 goals.
