PTV-32
PTV is an Australian television station licensed to, and serving the regions surrounding Mildura in Australia. The station commenced transmissions in 1997, when Prime Television won the second television licence for Mildura, a non-aggregated market, in competition with WIN Television. Analogue transmission ceased on 30 June 2010 as part of the national conversion to digital television. Seven News In the Mildura regional market, short two-minute updates are presented by rotating presenters with weather forecasts presented by Karl Lijnders, Daniel Gibson or Craig Moore. Some of the reports aired in these updates are drawn on the resources of Mildura-based WIN News operation. History 1960s The first regional television stations were launched five years after the rollout of television to metropolitan Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. GLV-10 in Traralgon opened on 9 December 1961 and was followed 14 days later by GMV-6 in Shepparton and BCV-8 Bendigo. Prime Media Group Limited (formerly Prime Television Limited) was an Australian-based media corporation that formerly owned regional television network Prime7 in eastern Australia and GWN7 in regional Western Australia. It also owned ishop TV, a datacasting channel, co-owned by Brand Developers and two joint ventures with the WIN Corporation, Mildura Digital Television, and West Digital Television. ''WIN News'' is a local television news service in parts of regional Australia, produced by WIN Television. 12 regional bulletins and news update services are presented from WIN's headquarters in Wollongong, and until 2021 included production of a national compilation programme shared between the city and Maroochydore. Daniel Gibson (presenter)
Daniel Gibson (born in Victoria) is an Australian television presenter and is seen weeknightly across Seven as newsreader and weatherman in the role of network presenter. Gibson started his career in radio in the early 1990s at 2PK in Parkes NSW, before moving on to radio stations in Victoria including 3WM Horsham and ending up in the nation's capital, Canberra doing talkback on 2CC and then hosted the breakfast show on 2CA. Gibson has been part of Seven since May 2000. In 2007, Gibson joined the V8 Supercar telecast as pit lane reporter for the Seven Network. He is teamed up with Matthew White, Neil Crompton as well as Mark Beretta and Grant Denyer. Gibson was also part of MMM's broadcast of the Melbourne Formula 1 GP. WIN Television is an Australian television network owned by WIN Corporation that is based in Wollongong, New South Wales. WIN commenced transmissions on 18 March 1962 as a single television station covering the Wollongong region. The WIN Network has since grown to cover much of regional Australia. Prime Television launched on 17 March 1962 as '' CBN-8'' in Orange, and later expanded to cover regional New South Wales, Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory.
