Philips Sport Vereniging is a Dutch football club based in Eindhoven. The club was founded in 1913. This article is about the European matches of PSV. In Europe, PSV won the 1977–78 UEFA Cup and the 1987–88 European Cup. Wilhelmus Antonius "Willy" van de Kerkhof (; born 16 September 1951) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Van de Kerkhof and his twin brother René were squad members of the Dutch national team that made the World Cup final in 1974 and became key players in the team that made the 1978 final. He also played for the Netherlands at the Euro 1980. Overall, van de Kerkhof appeared 63 times for his country, scoring five goals. He was named by Pelé as one of the top 125 greatest living footballers in March 2004. René Van De Kerkhof
Reinier Lambertus van de Kerkhof (; born 16 September 1951) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a right winger for FC Twente, PSV Eindhoven and the Netherlands national team. Career Van de Kerkhof and his twin brother Willy were squad members of the Dutch national team that made the World Cup final in 1974 and became key players in the team that made the 1978 final, losing to hosts West Germany and Argentina, respectively. Overall, van de Kerkhof appeared 47 times for his country, scoring five goals. He is well remembered due to the incident before the 1978 World Cup final, when the opponent Argentia national team objected to the cast he wore on his injured forearm since it could have injured an Argentinian player. Willy Van Der Kuijlen
Wilhelmus Martinus Leonardus Johannes "Willy" van der Kuijlen (; 6 December 1946 – 19 April 2021) was a Dutch football player and a scout for PSV Eindhoven. Van der Kuijlen was born in Helmond and started his youth career at local club HVV. In 1964, he was signed by PSV Eindhoven. Van der Kuijlen ended up playing for the club 18 years, winning three Eredivisie titles, two domestic cups and the UEFA Cup in 1978. He was also crowned Eredivisie top scorer three times. After short periods with MVV Maastricht and Overpelt, he retired at age 37. After his playing career, Van der Kuijlen returned to PSV as assistant manager, first team coach, youth coach and scout. He also briefly served as assistant manager at Roda JC. Van der Kuijlen played 528 league games and scored 308 times for PSV, both being all-time club records. Jan Van Beveren
Jan van Beveren (, 5 March 1948 – 26 June 2011) was a Dutch football player and coach, who played as a goalkeeper. Van Beveren was born in Amsterdam, but moved to Emmen as a teenager. After reaching the first team with amateur side VV Emmen, he joined Sparta Rotterdam. In 1970, Van Beveren was bought by PSV Eindhoven, where he won three Eredivisie titles, two domestic cups and the UEFA Cup in 1978. In 1980, he moved to the United States to spend three seasons with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. After playing indoor soccer for two years with the Dallas Sidekicks, Van Beveren retired and settled in Texas. He later served as a youth coach at several clubs. Van Beveren played 32 caps for the Netherlands national team. Although a first choice in the late sixties, his international career was cut short due to a long feud with Johan Cruyff. The away goals rule is a method of tiebreaker, tiebreaking in association football and other sports when teams play each other twice, once at each team's home ground. Under the away goals rule, if the total goals scored by each team are equal, the team that has scored more goals "Road (sports), away from home" wins. This is sometimes expressed by saying that away goals "count double" in the event of a tie, though in practice the team with more away goals is simply recorded as the victor, rather than having additional or 'double' goals added to their total. s-Hertogenbosch (), colloquially known as Den Bosch (), is a city and municipality in the Netherlands with a population of 157,486.
