''PM'', sometimes referred to as the ''PM programme'' to avoid ambiguity, is BBC Radio 4's long-running early evening news and current affairs programme. It is currently presented by Evan Davis and Carolyn Quinn and produced by BBC News. Broadcast times ''PM'' is broadcast from 5pm to 6pm from Monday to Friday and from 5pm to 5:30pm on Saturdays. On weekdays it is followed by another news programme, the ''Six O'Clock News''. The final five minutes of the weekday edition are only broadcast on FM as long wave breaks away from the programme at 5.54pm to broadcast the teatime shipping forecast. Brian Widlake
Nigel Brian Windsor Widlake (13 April 1931 – 2 January 2017) was a British journalist, broadcaster and presenter. Early life Widlake was born in Fiji on 13 April 1931. Education Widlake was educated at two independent schools for boys, at the time based in Hammersmith in West London: first at Colet Court School, now known as St Paul's Juniors, when, shortly after enrolment, he and others were evacuated to the village of Much Hadham in Hertfordshire in the early part of the Second World War, and then at St Paul's School, followed by Clare College, Cambridge. Life and career Widlake served initially as a cadet before his promotion to 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Hampshire Regiment on 4 November 1950. Eddie Mair
Eddie Mair (born 12 November 1965) is a Scottish broadcaster who was a presenter on BBC radio and television. He presented his show on LBC between 4pm and 6pm every weekday until his last one, on 18 August 2022, after which he retired from broadcasting. He also hosted BBC Radio 4's daily news magazine '' PM'', the Radio 4 Saturday ''iPM'', and ''NewsPod''. He occasionally presented ''Newsnight'' and ''Any Questions''. Hugh Sykes is a journalist employed by BBC News, specifically reporting for news programmes on BBC Radio 4. Sykes can regularly be heard reporting for '' PM'', ''The World at One'', ''Broadcasting House'' and ''The World This Weekend''. Arthur Gordon Clough (26 August 1934, Salford, Lancashire – 6 April 1996, London), was an English radio presenter and journalist, primarily known for his work on BBC Radio 4. Blue Peter Badge
A ''Blue Peter'' badge is an award for ''Blue Peter'' viewers, given by the BBC children's television programme for those appearing on the show, or in recognition of achievement. They are awarded to children aged 6 to 15, or to adults who have been guests on the programme. Adults can also get a Gold badge if they have done something extraordinary. Approximately 22,000 are distributed annually. The pin badges were introduced to the programme by editor Biddy Baxter in 1963, from an idea by ''Blue Peter'' producer Edward Barnes. ''Blue Peter'' is a British children's television entertainment programme created by John Hunter Blair. It is the longest-running children's TV show in the world, having been broadcast since October 1958. It was broadcast primarily from BBC Television Centre in London until September 2011, when the programme moved to dock10 studios at MediaCityUK in Salford, Greater Manchester. Valerie Singleton (born 9 April 1937) is an English television and radio presenter best known as a regular presenter of the popular children's series ''Blue Peter'' from 1962 to 1972.
