''PFL 5'' was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Professional Fighters League that took place on June 16, 2023, at the Overtime Elite Arena in, Atlanta, Georgia, United States. This marked the fifth regular-season event of the tournament and included fights in the Heavyweight and Women's Featherweight divisions. Background This event was headlined by returning 2022 Heavyweight Champion Ante Delija facing UFC veteran Maurice Greene and 2022 Women's Lightweight Champion Larissa Pacheco facing off against Bellator veteran Amber Leibrock in a featherweight bout. Professional Fighters League
The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is an American mixed martial arts league founded by venture capitalist Donn Davis in 2017 and launched in 2018, following the acquisition and restructuring of the former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) promotion in 2017 by MMAX Investment Partners. It is the first major MMA organization in which individual athletes compete in a regular season, post-season and championship, rather than on a year-round basis. The PFL currently puts on fights across six weight-divisions: featherweight, women's lightweight, lightweight, welterweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight. PFL 2 (2023 Season)
The ''PFL 2'' mixed martial arts event for the 2023 season of the Professional Fighters League was held on April 7, 2023, at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Paradise, Nevada, United States. This marked the second regular-season event of the tournament and included fights in the Heavyweight and Women's Featherweight divisions. Background Ante Delija was to headline the event in a bout against Yorgan De Castro in a heavyweight match-up. However, Delija pulled out due to injury and was replaced by Denis Goltsov. In turn, Goltsov withdrew from the bout and was replaced by Danilo Marques. Yorgan De Castro (born December 19, 1987) is a Cape Verdean professional mixed martial artist who competes in the Heavyweight division of Professional Fighters League (PFL).
