PFA Men's Footballer Of The Year
The Professional Footballers Australia Men's Footballer of the Year (often called PFA Men's Footballer of the Year) is an annual award given to the player who is adjudged to have been the best of the year in Australian soccer. The award has been presented since the 2008–09 season and the winner is chosen by a vote amongst the members of the players' trade union, Professional Footballers Australia (PFA). The current holder is Tom Rogic, who won the award on 26 May 2022. The first winner of the award was Everton midfielder Tim Cahill. As of 2022, only Mathew Ryan and Aaron Mooy have won the award on multiple occasions, and only Mooy has won the award in consecutive seasons. Mooy has won the award a record three times. Although there is a separate Harry Kewell Medal for players under the age of 23, young players remain eligible to win the senior award, and on one occasion the same player won both awards for a season, Ryan in 2014–15. Aaron Mooy
Aaron Frank Mooy (; ; born 15 September 1990) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Scottish Premiership club Celtic and the Australia national team. Born in Sydney, Mooy played youth football for the New South Wales Institute of Sport and Bolton Wanderers before making his professional debut with St Mirren. He returned to Sydney to play for Western Sydney Wanderers in 2012, and moved to Melbourne City two years later. Signing for Manchester City in 2016, Mooy was immediately loaned to Huddersfield Town and helped the club gain promotion to the Premier League. He signed with Huddersfield permanently in June 2017. In January 2020, Mooy was signed permanently by Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion before moving to Shanghai SIPG in China during August 2020. Michael John "Mile" Jedinak (; ; born 3 August 1984) is an Australian former professional footballer who served as the captain of the Australia national team. He is currently the Loan Player Development Coach at Aston Villa. Jedinak was born and raised in Sydney, and played youth football with Sydney United before starting his senior career at the club. Following loan spells at Varteks and South Coast United, Jedinak moved to Central Coast Mariners in 2006. Robbie Thomas Kruse ( ; ; born 5 October 1988) is an Australian professional footballer who last played as a forward for Melbourne Victory and the Australia national team. Brett Trevor Holman (born 27 March 1984) is a former Australian professional footballer who last played for Brisbane Roar in the A-League as an attacking midfielder. Born in Sydney, Holman played youth football for Northern Spirit before making his senior debut for Parramatta Power. He then moved to the Netherlands, where he played for a number of years before moving to Aston Villa in 2012 to play in the English Premier League.
