Põhja-Sakala (football Club)
Suure-Jaani United is an Estonian football club sports club based in Suure-Jaani. The club was formed from the club JK Rolling Doors in 2011. The club plays in III Liiga. In 2012 Estonian Cup the club reached to the 1/16 finals, losing to a II Liiga club FC Elva at home 1–2. In 2018 the team decided to start cooperating with a nearby club called SK Tääksi and the two started playing under the name Põhja-Sakala. Newly formed team decided to play their home games on the Suure-Jaani Gymnasium's stadion. Põhja-Sakala also instantly formed a second team named Põhja-Sakala II, which currently plays in the sixth tier. The team won the III liiga in 2018 and got promoted to the II liiga. II Liiga
II liiga is the fourth level of football league competition in Estonia arranged by the Estonian Football Association. It consists of 28 teams, divided geographically into two divisions with 14 teams respectively in group North/East and South/West. Until 2013, it was the third level league. Competition During the season, teams play each opponent twice, once at home and once away, for 26 matches. At the end of the season, the winners of both divisions face each other in one final match to determine the champion of II liiga. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter time, the season starts around April and lasts until around the start of November. At the end of the season, the winners of both divisions may be promoted to the Esiliiga B. This is providing the clubs meet the licensing criteria of the Esiliiga B. Estonian Football Association
The Estonian Football Association (EJL; et, Eesti Jalgpalli Liit) is the governing body of football, beach soccer and futsal in Estonia, established on 14 December 1921. It organizes the football league, including the championship which is called Meistriliiga, Estonian Cup and the Estonian national football team. It is based in Tallinn. EJL became a member of FIFA in 1923, but following Estonia's annexation by the Soviet Union it was disbanded. It became a member again in 1992 after Estonia reinstated its independence. Controversy In 2017, FIFA fined the Estonian Football Association 30,000 Swiss francs (26,000 euros) and gave them a warning because of an incident where Bosnia and Herzegovina fans threw burning material onto the field. 2019–20 Estonian Cup
The 2019–20 Estonian Cup was the 30th season of the Estonian main domestic football knockout tournament. Flora won their eight title after defeating Narva Trans in the final. The winner of the Cup were to qualify for the first qualifying round of the 2020–21 UEFA Europa League, but as Flora were already qualified for the Champions League the spot passed on to Paide Linnameeskond. The 2019 II liiga is the 25th season of the II liiga, fourth-highest league for association football clubs in Estonia. The top 2 teams are promoted to 1 liiga, the third highest league for association football clubs in Estonia II liiga North/East 2019 season 2019 II N/E liiga consists of 14 different teams. Nine of them remain the same, two were promoted from III liiga, two were relegated from higher divisions and one club ( Tallinna JK Legion II) transferred from the last year's II liiga S/W. Promoted teams were Põhja-Tallinna JK Volta II and FC Jõgeva Wolves while relegated clubs were Lasnamäe FC Ajax and Tartu FC Santos.
