Put The Green Cape On
"Put the Green Cape On" is a song by Irish pop duo Jedward. The song is based on the duo's hit single "Lipstick" with new lyrics written by Colm Hayes. The song serves as Ireland's unofficial song for UEFA Euro 2012. All proceeds from the sale of the single were donated to Irish charity the ISPCC. The single was released on 4 May 2012. Background "Put the Green Cape On" premiered on 3 May 2012, on lyricist Colm Hayes' radio show on RTE2FM. In support of the single, official Jedward green capes were made available for sale in Elverys sports stores across Ireland, priced at €4.99 each. Music video The video for the track is 4:19 in length and uses the extended version of the song. The video was created by Irish animation house Caboom and features Jedward as superheroes with animated bodies. John and Edward Grimes (born 16 October 1991), collectively known as Jedward (a portmanteau of their first names), are an Irish singing and television presenting duo. Paul McGrath (born 4 December 1959) is an Irish former professional footballer, who played as a defender. Mainly a centre back, he also played as defensive midfielder. McGrath is widely considered to be one of the greatest Irish players of all time. He spent the majority of his career at Aston Villa and Manchester United (seven seasons apiece). Bosco (TV Series)
Bosco is an Irish children's television programme produced during the late 1970s and 1980s. It was produced and shown by RTÉ in Ireland. Designed by Jan Mitchell, Bosco was voiced by Jonathan Ryan initially, in the pilot series that was broadcast, with four presenters per show, in 1979. When the show went into full-time production in 1980, with two presenters per show, Miriam Lambert took over. From the 1981 season onwards, Paula Lambert took over. Bosco's name was chosen by Helen Quinn, sister of presenter Marian Richardson. It ran for 386 episodes, ending production in 1987. The show was continually repeated before (and later during) ''The Den'' daily until 30 September 1996, when it was replaced by ''The Morbegs'' before officially ending on 26 November 1998. Zig And Zag (puppets)
Zig and Zag are an Irish puppet duo, featured on RTÉ, performed by Ciaran Morrison and Mick O'Hara. The characters are a pair of furry extraterrestrial twins from the planet Zog. They made their television début on 22 September 1987 on RTÉ's ''Dempsey's Den''. Two years later they won a Jacob's Award for TV Personalities of the year. Bernard Dunne (born 6 February 1980) is an Irish former professional boxer and a former WBA (Regular), and European Super Bantamweight champion. Dustin the Turkey, a character performed by John Morrison is a former star of RTÉ television's ''The Den'' between 1989 and 2010 and from 2020. Rachel Allen (née O'Neill) is an Irish celebrity chef, known for her work on television and as a writer. She has often appeared on Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). Career as chef and writer Allen went to the Ballymaloe Cookery School at the age of 18. Martin King (born 7 April 1963) is an Irish broadcaster who was the Monday to Thursday co-host of ''The Six O'Clock Show'' on Virgin Media One (formerly TV3) and presents his own radio show on Saturday Mid Morning on Q102.
