Edgar Lewis (director)
Edgar Lewis ( – May 21, 1938) was an American film director. Two of his most famous films were ''The Great Divide (1925 film), The Great Divide'' (1925) and ''The Barrier (1926 film), The Barrier'' (1926). He directed early silent films starring Douglas Fairbanks, William Farnum, Mary Pickford, and Norma Talmadge. Career He began his career as a stage actor and entered the film industry in 1911 as an actor, making his directorial debut two years later. Specializing in action-adventure films and westerns, he directed dozens of pictures between 1913 and 1930, when he left directing and returned to his first love, acting. Most of his films during the sound era were in bit parts or uncredited roles. He appeared in his final film, ''Riding Wild.'' He retired in 1935. He died in Los Angeles in 1938. Harry Semels
Harry Semels (November 20, 1887 – March 2, 1946) was an American film actor. He appeared in over 315 films between 1917 and 1946. Career Semels made his film debut in 1917. He appeared in several Three Stooges shorts for Columbia Pictures including ''Disorder in the Court'', '' Wee Wee Monsieur'' and '' Three Little Sew and Sews''. He also appeared in feature films like ''Road to Morocco'', '' The Princess and the Pirate'' and '' The Kid from Brooklyn''. A versatile character actor, Semels was often cast as villains, waiters, lawyers and soldiers. Personal life Semels was Jewish and had two children, Ruth and David, who was killed in action during World War II. Death Semels died of a heart attack on March 2, 1946, in Hollywood, California. He was 58 years old. Charles Colby (actor)
Charles Carroll Colby, (December 10, 1827 – January 10, 1907) was a Canadian lawyer, businessman and politician. He was born in Derby, Vermont in 1827, the son of Moses French Colby, and came to Stanstead, Quebec with his family in 1832. He studied at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. He studied law, was called to the Quebec bar in 1855 and entered practice at Stanstead. In 1858, he married Harriet Child. Colby was elected as a Liberal-Conservative MP in the House of Commons of Canada in 1867 representing Stanstead and remained in parliament until his defeat in 1891. He served as President of the Privy Council under Sir John A. Macdonald from 1889 to 1891 and was previously Deputy Speaker and Chairman of Committees of the Whole of the House of Commons. Colby supported the introduction of tariffs to reciprocate against those imposed by the United States. He was a trustee of Stanstead College and a director for several railway companies.
